About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am proud of the way I play the game. I play hard and intelligently. I feel like I am a very good receiver and blocker at the catcher position. In addition, solid enough defensively that you can play me anywhere else in the infield as well. Good hitter capable of hitting the gaps and enough power to hit a few home runs as well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very focused and love the game of softball. I am a fierce competitor and a loyal teammate. Willing to work hard outside of games in order to improve.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Book club, Illinois Principals Association Student of the Year 2025, Shiloh Middle School School Scholarship Athlete 2024 and 2025, Shiloh Middle School Student of the Month in October 2022, October 2023, and December 2024.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership by example off the field and in practice/workouts. Demonstrated on the field in the catcher position. Communication with pitchers and at the catchers position.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Loss of both of my Grandparents before I was ten. Broken arm in 2020. Other than that I have been very fortunate.

What type of college are you looking for?

Looking to play college softball at the Division 1 level at a school that places high emphasis on academics.
