About Aubrey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a pitcher, I prioritize spin, movement and location and effectively challenging hitters every pitch by maintaining an aggressive approach. As a hitter, I focus on achieving a high on-base percentage and batting average, capitalizing on every opportunity and making pitchers pay for their mistakes.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a strong willed and driven person. As a pitcher I’ve had to learn how to mentally deal with high stress and failure ( or learning moments) that have helped me to become a more confident young girl. I come from a very structured environment which has also helped me to be more mature than most my age.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve always played a couples years up from my grade level allowing me to learn from the older girls and have been allowed to lead when needed. My father always has taught me to be a great leader you first have to learn to follow. I am involved in the girls scouts since I was 4 taking pride in contributing to my community as much as I can.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My father served in the military for half my life and moving from place to place while worried about him caused significant stress. I’ve delt with struggling on the field and had to figure out a way to continue to help my team as best as I could.

What type of college are you looking for?

Highly competitive Athletic Program in a High competitive conference. School has to have a strong program that helps players grow as athletes and individuals not just on the field but off.

Coming from a military family, Aubrey Birtness Aubrey Birtness Aubrey Birtness RHP/1B Walnut | 2029 CA moved around a lot growing up but has now settled in the Los Angeles area, where she consistently faces some of the best competition around. She mixes speeds well, utilizing a fastball and changeup to prevent batters from sitting on any of her pitches, and her command is especially sharp on her arm side, making her especially tough on righties. Birtness throws right-handed but bats from the left side, and has outstanding bat speed and good pitch recognition skills. She may not hit for much extra-base power, but she uses the whole field and can be a sparkplug at the top of her team’s lineup.
