About Alyssa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I dominate on the mound using a combination of spin, velocity and location. When I am not on the mound, I cover the outfield with speed. I take the correct angles and know where the ball needs to go.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am focused on the pitch that is happening right now. When I am on the mound, I know what the batter is confused and frustrated and take advantage of their lack of confidence. When mistakes happen, I learn from them and build on them.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently in my high school baking club. I participate in our local ski club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned to work hard, because that is what I can control. I have learned to pick up my teammates and classmates when they are down. I volunteer in my community and the surrounding communities, putting others needs ahead of mine.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have changed school districts this year, leaving my childhood friends. I have made new friends an teammates this past fall. I have an hour commute each way and still maintain straight A's. I struggled a bit this fall with my new team, but it has made me work even harder and want it more.

What type of college are you looking for?

My dream schools are Stanford, Oregon, Villanova, Tennessee and Michigan.
