Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’m Alexis Kuhlman, primarily a SS/3rd baseman but overall utility player, in my junior year of high school at Hinsdale South High School in Darien, IL. I am a very versatile, team player who held a .400 batting average my sophomore year, gained 35 hits, 20 RBIs, , and had an OBP of .453. I stole 17 bases and hold an average 2.8 first base time. I am primarily a left infielder.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a leader on my softball school team and travel team. I love to encourage all the girls on my team, always running the camps in the summer and working with younger kids to help them love the game as much as I do. I love to win more than anything but I cherish most is the bond and experience softball has taught me. The discipline and the friendships are something I will hold on to forever.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in the Christian Youth Group, Young Life. I’ve played varsity golf every year of high school. I am a leader on my schools first ever girls flag football team. I play varsity basketball. I have been on Deans List every semester, Math student of the month, Hornet Scholar my freshman, sophomore and junior year.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have over 25 hours of community service. I have developed a role of leadership with the underclassmen on my team and help restart the summer camp programs for the younger players in middle/elementary schools. As a Christian I try to always treat people with love and kindness and playing softball has let me meet so many people to do this with.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Right before a softball game my dad had a heart attack and he is my best friend. Someone who comes to every game and is my motivator. It was extremely hard to get through the game and I played my heart out for him. It was one of my best games and my hitting was phenomenal. It really made me love the sport even more.
What type of college are you looking for?
