Abigail Sherman
About Abigail
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I'm a gritty, high-energy catcher who leads with confidence and composure. I play with intensity and hustle, commanding the field with my voice and quick instincts. With a 1.92 pop time, I combine fast, efficient mechanics with excellent game awareness, making me a defensive anchor and a spark plug for my team.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have fearless intensity and unshakable confidence. I'm the kind of competitor who refuses to be rattled, I'm unbothered by pressure, expectations, or opponents. I lead with grit and composure, always backing up my teammates and setting the vibe with my toughness and ‘let’s go’ attitude. My edge and resilience make me a difference-maker behind the plate.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I'm apart of Norco High School's Agriculture and FFA Program, which is helping me in my pursuit of studying and becoming a large animal veterinarian.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I'm the kind of person who naturally steps into leadership roles. I served as ASB President at Norco Intermediate School last year. I learned how to bring people together, communicate with confidence, and make things happen. I'm never afraid to speak up, take initiative, or stand by what I believe in. I carry myself with a mix of grit, humor, and authenticity that earns trust and respect.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
One of my biggest challenges has been learning to establish my own identity as an athlete and leader while having a twin sister who also plays softball. We’re both proud to be competitive and supportive of each other, but it can be tough when people automatically see us as ‘the twins’ instead of two individual players with our own strengths.
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a college where I can play competitive softball and study Animal Science to prepare for a career as a large animal veterinarian. I want a program that feels like family — where the coaches care, the team pushes each other, and I can grow both as a player and a person. My dream school is Utah State University!
