<p>As recruiting for the high school class of 2026 heats up, Arizona has a talented group of uncommitted softball players who have yet to make their college commitments. These athletes are already turning heads with the amount of talent and skills they possess. From powerful hitters and quick slappers to dominant pitchers, the class of 2026 is getting it done both on the field and in the classroom.</p>   <p>Below, we highlight these uncommitted 2026 prospects, as we discuss their versatility, dedication, and skills on and off the field, making them some of the most exciting youth softball players in the country.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Arizona Hotshots</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Baylee Peters is a catcher from Chandler, Arizona and one of the top uncommitted 2026 softball players from Arizona. She attends Campo Verde High School, where she is an outstanding student, maintaining a 4.1 GPA. Peters has received various academic awards, including the Golden Scholar award and All-Academic honors, in her first two seasons at Campo Verde High School. Peters has done exceptionally well in her first two Campo Verde softball seasons. Not only did she make the varsity team as a freshman, but Peters was also named Honorable Mention All-Region in 2023. Peters is also a proud Arizona Hotshots 18U Gold Delsante/Carrol team member. She is known for being a vocal and supportive leader on and off the field. Peters is often found behind the plate, where she is a strong and reliable catcher who does anything to help her pitchers. Speaking of strong, Peters has a solid arm with a pop time of 1.7-1.8. She can demonstrate her strength by preventing any opponent from stealing on her. She is a dedicated athlete determined to improve both offensively and defensively whenever possible, whether she is working on her blocks, framing, or putting in extra work in the batting cages. Peters hits the ball hard at the plate, showcasing her ability to hit the gaps, but also occasionally hits home runs. Peters will be a valuable asset to any collegiate program due to her work ethic and dedication to excellence in both academics and athletics. Her ability to play at a high level and perform consistently on offense and defense makes her a top candidate for any collegiate softball program.</p>     <p>Lily Shull is a phenomenal outfielder from Phoenix, Arizona, who attends Boulder Creek High School. She throws with her left hand and hits from the right side. Since she's been in high school, she has done great academically, maintaining a 4.08 GPA, while challenging herself with dual and honors classes. Shull has done great for the Boulder Creek High School team. She made varsity right away and has proven she is an elite athlete. Shull is also another proud Arizona Hotshots 18U Gold Delsante/Carroll team member. At the plate, Shull brings power. She is a power hitter who can hit home runs and line drives in the gaps. Shull showcases her elite athleticism in the outfield by tracking deep fly balls, diving for balls in the gaps, and highlighting her strong arm. Her strong arm and quick bat do not go unnoticed, especially when she has an exit velocity of 65 mph for both her overhand throw and swing. Shull has a fierce field presence, making her stand out from others. She is a dedicated athlete willing to do anything to achieve her goal of playing at the highest collegiate level. That includes staying focused at practices, putting extra work in during one-on-one lessons, and becoming stronger through workouts at the gym. Lily Shull has the characteristics of an elite athlete who is positively dedicated to her athletics and academics, which will help her to stand out to collegiate programs.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Jordan Echtner is a dedicated catcher and first baseman from Vail, Arizona. She attends Cienega High School, maintaining a 3.9 GPA. She is also a two-time Honor Roll recipient, exhibiting her excellence and hard work in the classroom. Since high school, she has been excellent in the classroom and has shown her incredible athleticism by being a multi-sport athlete. Echtner is terrific on the softball field and also on the track. Aside from her high school athletics, Echtner is a proud Arizona Hotshots 18U Gold team member. She swings from the left side of the plate and throws the ball with her right hand. Echtner is known for her power behind each swing she takes, with an exit velocity between 70-72 mph. She is always ready to hit the ball hard somewhere when she steps into the box. Defensively, Echtner typically plays catcher or first base, allowing her to showcase her leadership abilities. On the field, whether at first base or behind the plate, Echtner has an exceptional field presence, standing out with her remarkable strength, loud voice, and commanding height. Echtner is constantly finding ways to elevate her skills, both on the field and in the classroom. Her passion is to continue to find ways to improve and elevate her game to achieve her dreams of playing at the highest collegiate level. Echtners' combination of academic excellence, passion, and hard work will help attract collegiate coaches and guide her to the next chapter of her athletic and academic journey.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Vendetta</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Ella Larned is an outstanding student and a catcher and outfielder for her high school and Vendetta 18U Brimhall teams. Larned maintains an impressive 3.80 GPA as a student, representing her hard work and determination in the classroom. She has also had an exceptional first couple of years playing high school ball. Larned quickly became a varsity every-game starter, earning herself First-Team All-Region recognition and leading her team in stolen bases. She is known for her intense competitiveness, dedication to the game, and leadership on and off the field. At the plate, Larned has a wide range of abilities from the left side, allowing her to stand out. She is a player who can hit for power, slap to create chaos, and is a terrific bunter who can use her speed to get on base. Larned has versatility at the plate, where she has the power and the swing to hit home runs, but she also adapts to game situations and can lay down a bunt. Her versatility makes her an offensive asset and weapon that coaches love to have in their lineup, as her wide range of tools at the plate makes her unpredictable and quite challenging to defend. Defensively, she is known to have a cannon of an arm, making her lethal in both the outfield and behind the plate. Her quickness allows her to make some incredible plays in the outfield, whether she is tracking deep fly balls with incredible range or diving for line drives. Her impressive versatility, leadership, and determination are all significant characteristics that will help push her to the collegiate level.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Andrea Fletcher is a righthanded pitcher and utility player from Eastmark High School. She is a well-rounded student-athlete with a 3.00 GPA, and is another Vendetta 18U Brimhall team member. Fletcher is an outstanding pitcher with good velocity, living in the low-to-mid 60s. She has a ton of strikeouts as a pitcher and maintains control well through her various pitches. Fletcher is very athletic, which allows her to succeed at positions such as first base, second base, and outfield. She hits from the left side and throws from the right. She showcases her versatility at various positions and her ability to cover a ton of ground with her quickness, speed, and strong arm. In the outfield, Fletcher can track balls down, and in the infield, Fletcher has strong footwork and quick reactions that help her stand out. At the plate, Fletcher is a slapper with outstanding speed. For the Vendetta team, she has been a terrific leadoff batter, finding ways to get on base to allow her teammates to move her over and score her. Fletcher is a very competitive player who brings a ton of energy when she steps on the field and is willing to do whatever it takes to help her team win. She is also known for being a great teammate who constantly supports her team whenever possible. Andrea Fletcher is a skillful player with the versatility to impact a game and team in various ways.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Kayla Bowser is a versatile athlete from Casteel High School who excels as a utility player, focusing on being a shortstop and corner infielder. With a 3.2 GPA, Bowser combines her athleticism and academics to be a solid student-athlete. She is a newer Vendetta 18U Brimhall team member and has showcased her athleticism immediately. Bowser is a powerful player at the plate and in the field. She also has an incredible softball IQ and instincts that help set her apart from other players. Whether making quick plays in the infield or firing runners down from the outfield, Bowser's defensive capabilities and strength do not go unnoticed. She is a player who leads by example and always finds a way to get extra work in, whether that be through extra reps as an infielder or outfielder. Bowser is a competitive player. Therefore, she is always looking for ways to improve her skill set. Offensively, Bowser is a power hitter from the right side who can spray the ball well in all areas of the field. She has stepped up in various games and came up clutch for her team. She can drive in tons of runs, and she does just that. Bowser is a fierce competitor who is willing to help her team however she can. Her goal is to play for a collegiate program that fosters both athletic and academic growth, allowing her to pursue both her dreams: playing college softball and pursuing her passion of having a career in STEM. With her drive, passion, and leadership skills, Bowser will make an immediate impact at the next level, both on and off the field.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">L'il Saints</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Riley Heuett is a righthanded pitcher and utility player from Show Low High School. She is a dedicated student-athlete, earning a spot in the National Honor Society. She is a focused student who does well in the classroom, maintaining a 4.1 GPA. Heuett was part of the varsity team and was named a Second-Team All-Region pitcher. Heuett demonstrates excellent control and the ability to execute each pitch well in the circle. She not only has solid pitching mechanics but, since she was young, she also has had a deep commitment to finding ways to improve. She dominates in the circle, staying calm for her team when needed but firing herself up when the moment is right. Beyond her pitching skills, Heuett is a well-rounded utility player who is willing to step into any position her team needs her to. Her athleticism allows her to excel wherever she is on the field. Her strong work ethic and willingness to improve are evident in her approach to play. Heuett also has a high softball IQ, whether it be decisions made as a pitcher or an infielder, which is a noticeable strength. Heuett is driven to succeed in athletics and academics and is interested in pursuing Business Administration as her college major. Her strong leadership, versatility, and determination will be an asset to any collegiate program.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Taylor Dunagan is a middle infielder from Mountain Ride High School. Dunagan focuses on her academics and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She has received All-Academic honors for her high school conference and the President's Academic Achievement Award. This award is given to students with outstanding academic growth and commitment to their academic subjects. Her academic excellence already shows the type of person Dunagan is: hard-working and focused on the right things. When it comes to athletics, Dunugan is a well-rounded and competitive softball player. She hits from the left side and throws with her right hand. At the plate, she is a triple threat. Dunugan is a player who can soft, chop, and power slap on top of being able to lay a bunt down and hit away. She plays middle infield, going back and forth between shortstop and second base. Her agility and quickness enable her to make impressive plays deep in the hole. Dunagan brings energy and excitement to the game for herself and to pump up her teammates, too. She hopes to continue her love for the game at the collegiate level, while also pursuing a degree in Veterinary Medicine.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">OC Batbusters (AZ)</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Mia Jacobs is an exceptional multi-sport athlete who excels on the field, the court, and in the classroom. She attends Canyon View High School with an impressive 4.33 GPA, showcasing her academic dedication. Jacobs is a three-time First-Team All-Academic selection as well. She has proven her commitment and ability to maintain her grades, all while playing two sports—softball and basketball. Jacobs stands out in the circle as a dominant force with height and strength. She throws a curve and drop ball and consistently lives in the 62+ mph range. Jacobs can locate the ball well and always looks for ways to improve her pitches. During high school softball season, she was named a second-team All-Region Desert West pitcher. When she is not pitching, you may see her playing first base, where her coaches have seen her grow tremendously. Her all-around skills and athleticism make her a key player for the Batbuster - Jacobs team. Offensively, Jacobs has proven herself to be a power hitter who is able to hit home runs and balls in the gap. Mia Jacobs has the characteristics of leadership, work ethic, versatility, and academic and athletic excellence that will continue to help her stand out to collegiate coaches.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Sedona Hernandez is an elite and versatile player who excels at multiple positions, including shortstop, catcher, second base, and outfield. She attends Canyon View High School, maintaining a 4.00 GPA. As a sophomore, Hernandez earned First-Team All-Academic honors and was named a Second-Team All-Desert West selection. She is a proud and critical member of the Batbusters - Jacobs team. Hernandez's size can often deceive people, but she brings much power, strength, and energy to the field. Defensively, Hernandez's strong arm makes her a key asset in the infield, outfield, and behind the plate. She is always ready to make a difference in the game, whether that is by throwing someone out or making exceptional plays. Hernandez finds a way to support her teammates however she can and often leads by example. Offensively, she is a powerhouse and can drive the ball hard. She has showcased her ability to hit with power with her multiple home runs. And once she gets on base, she uses her great base-running awareness to capitalize on the defense's mistakes and find a way into scoring position. Hernandez is a combination of a strong work ethic, leadership skills, softball talent, and academic drive. These qualities make her a crucial part of her Batbusters and Canyon View teams, and also make her a vital recruit to watch.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Zoe Jackson is a powerful outfielder and first baseman from Canyon View High School. Jackson's dedication to improving every part of her game, including her speed, power, and overall defense, has paid off. Jackson received an Honorable Mention honor in the All-Desert Region during high school play. She is known for her hitting, as she regularly drives the ball into the gap, using her strength and power to generate extra-base hits. Defensively, Jackson is a dominant presence in the outfield. Her arm strength and ability to track down any fly ball makes her a standout in the outfield. She also has an accurate arm from the outfield, making runners think twice before taking extra bases. She uses her quick reflexes and athleticism when she plays first base, making her a reliable option there. Jackson is always ready to help her team, whether that is by playing various positions or supporting her teammates during practices and in games. Jackson is a solid athlete and student, maintaining a 3.3 GPA. If she continues to elevate her game, she will definitely be a recruit to watch in the coming months.</p>
