Illinois Chill Gold 14U

The Illinois Chill Gold 14U brought home the 2024 Fall Scenic City 14U championship. In two days, the squad tallied seven wins, one tie, and scored 55 runs, while only allowing 11. The Chill's tie came to the same team they beat in the championship game (Fusion). They blew through the competition in bracket play until the championship game ended with a final score of 3-2. Out of the 33 teams competing in this prestigious event at the 14U level, the Chill were certainly the most impressive. Opposing teams should be ready for a tough contest against them in future events.

Fusion 14U National Unruh/Hobgood

With a second-place finish at one of the nation's largest fall events, this Fusion National team has much to be proud of. They blasted 13 home runs over their eight games (6-1-1 record) by six different players. That includes a walk-off homer by Riley Baker (2028) to send them to the championship game. While they came up just one run short in the championship, this Fusion team was definitely one of the most impressive at this incredible event. Their lineup is dangerous on offense and defense, and will continue to be a threat at future high-level tournaments.

Starz Gold 14U Bunn

Joining the home run parade was top-three finisher Starz Gold. Their lineup blasted 12 home runs in seven games from nine different players. This team was put in the top pool for a reason and only faced defeats from the two eventual championship teams. Their offense brought in 42 runs over the course of two days. The Starz were certainly one of the most impressive teams from the weekend and will look to perform even better at their final fall event back home in Virginia.

Frost Falcons 14U Harr

After two one-run losses to start the event, the Frost Falcons were able to pull out a top-three finish at Scenic City. They proceeded to win their next four games before losing to the eventual champions (Illinois Chill). This young team smashed 15 home runs in two days, including a grand slam by Malloree Harr (2030). Over their seven games, 42 runners crossed home plate. This fall has brought the Falcons much success (only three losses). They are certainly one of the most dangerous teams out there and have two fall events left to continue to make a name for themselves this year.

Birmingham Thunderbolts Whitaker 2029

The Thunderbolts came from Alabama to Tennessee on a mission to impress at Scenic City. Walking away with a 4-1 record, the Bolts won most of their games in convincing fashion. Their bats were on fire and their defense was consistent. Their opponents averaged less than three runs per game, which shows the strength of their pitching staff and fielders. Despite being eliminated somewhat early in bracket play, this team has much to be proud of, as they performed well at a huge event. As they have now passed the halfway point in their fall season, they are well-prepared to continue their success on the field.
