Top Uncommitted 2026 Prospects From Ohio

The class of 2025 is preparing to sign next month and already looking ahead to the next step in their softball journey. But with a little over a month into the initial contact period for colleges, it's time to check out the next wave of talented softball juniors preparing to find their future homes. While many players from the 2026 recruiting class have already found a spot to continue their education and playing career, many strong athletes from Ohio—a place with some of the top recruits in the nation—have yet to find a home.   Here are five of the best uncommitted players from the 2026 recruiting class hailing from the Buckeye state to keep on your radar as the recruiting cycle continues.    Leah is a catcher and third baseman with a sub-2.00 pop time and an arm velocity that tops out just below 60 MPH. She has a quick-twitch arm behind the plate that can easily develop into a stronger arm as she progresses through college. Despite having a relatively slow glove-to-throwing-hand transition, her arm speed makes up for it.   Rated by Rise Softball as the fourth-best recruit from Ohio and the fifth-best catcher from the Great Lakes region, Figueroa projects to be a power bat at the plate and a strong presence behind the dish.     Abygale plays catcher and first base, ending her travel ball season with a strong stat line. Helping guide the Outlaws to a 73-19-3 record, she batted .483 with 19 doubles, six triples, 17 home runs and 85 RBI. She has tremendous power up the middle with a slightly open stance that allows her to explode on the ball.   She makes up for being a tad undersized by flashing an incredible glove both behind the plate and at first base, especially when she's putting her entire body into pickoff throws.     Samantha is a speedy middle infielder with great snap on her six pitches in the circle. She combines a talented spray hitting approach with a home-to-first speed of 3.09 seconds that allows her to project as a strong leadoff hitter.   Her pitches won't blow anyone out of the box, with her fastball sitting at 57.5 MPH and her changeup hovering at 44 MPH. But she has the movement and consistency to fool hitters with a curveball, screwball, drop ball and rise ball to go along with her two primary pitches.     Who couldn't use a tall, left-handed power arm that also tops out at a 70 MPH exit velocity at the plate? Rylee is a dual-threat player who can grow into a top-of-the-line starter for a college program while also continuing to develop her raw power at the plate.   She gets her six pitches on the batter extremely quickly. Even though her fastball hasn't reached 60 MPH yet (it's currently topped out at 59.1 MPH). Rylee's extension ensures the ball leaps out of her hand.     Ella is a slap-hitting lefty batter who got on base in more than half of her at-bats while also stealing 29 bases in travel ball this summer. She has a blazing 2.78-second home-to-first speed and a strong, accurate arm from all three outfield positions.   She hit for average at a whopping .458 through 160 plate appearances, while continuing to spray the ball to all three fields. Her slapping is also fluid and consistent.
