Expert Analysis
Casi VanAusdall | Prep Softball Scout
Throughout the summer, Maddie Fitzgerald was consistent in the batter’s box, as she ended her summer campaign with a batting average and OBP over .400. Her slugging percentage increased significantly over the summer, as evidenced by her extra-base hits and seven home runs, with five of those home runs coming in one tournament. In addition to her offense, Fitzgerald was also aggressive behind the plate with pickoffs. On one in particular, she took inspiration from Reese Atwood’s WCWS no-look pickoff and threw her baserunner out at third base.
