Stat sheets only tell half the story. To truly understand the potential of the 2030 class, you must look at the athletes who impact the game when they have multiple tools at their disposal, since they dictate the tempo from the first pitch to the final out. These standouts have defensive versatility and speed on the basepaths, and they prove that the most dangerous players in the game offer more than physical availability.

Below, Prep Softball highlights five players from the high school graduating class of 2030 who impact the game in multiple ways.

Having measurable impact and leadership through recovery may sound far-fetched, but to athletes like [player_tooltip player_id='184240' first='Braelyn' last='Allsbrooks'] it only proved why she's one of the most multi-dimensional prospects in the 2030 class. Midway through June, she unfortunately dislocated her shoulder, which resulted in a torn labrum while diving into home. A month later, she had a successful surgery to repair her shoulder's structure and hasn't looked back since. While Braelyn couldn't be on the field with her teammates this summer, her relentless work ethic, competitive drive, and selflessness throughout her recovery have made it clear that her impact on winning is evident, whether she's physically on the dirt or leading from the dugout. Once fully cleared, her physical tools will only be elevated by the mental resilience she's developed during this stretch.

When an athlete identifies as a utility player, it sparks genuine curiosity. After seeing [player_tooltip player_id='146274' first='Riley' last='Rucker'] play, utility would be the best position description to give her because she has the required athleticism and IQ to play any defensive position needed. Rucker has a smooth backhand but moves best to her glove-hand side and flat out covers the field, especially when playing second base. In addition to her defensive utility, Rucker impacts the game at the plate with electric hands through the zone, putting the entire defense off balance. Once the ball is in play, she continues to pound the dirt, forcing rushed throws and creating chaos on the bases.

Standing at 5'10” as a freshman in high school makes Declan SanRomani an intriguing prospect. She uses her physical frame and multi-sport athleticism to shine on defense. She's an advantage for her Synergy team at first base with her exceptional reach and reliability, whereas at third base, her reach is more functional as she knocks down hard-hit line drives and ground balls to the left side. In addition to her defensive presence, SanRomani was a doubles machine this summer, many of which hit the fence midair.

Mollie Anglin continues to set the standard for herself and her teammates in run production, confidence at the plate, and consistency in the field. When put into high-pressure situations at the plate, Mollie has only proven why she is in the upper echelon of the 2030 class. In a single Colorado tournament this summer, lefty Anglin helped her team earn a third-place finish with two grand slams and 17 RBIs. While offensive abilities are shiny, a polished defensive athlete wins championships. Keeping with her standard on offense, Mollie stays ready on the first base hot corner.

Every team needs a spark plug, and Evangeline Pham is that girl for her squad. Pham celebrates her teammates' successes as if they were her own. Her composure behind the plate and at third base, and her understanding of what it means to be a leader of young women, are vital to being part of a successful team. Two aspects of Pham's game stand out above the rest: her hustle and speed. While those may sound the same, hustle shows you're constantly on the move and willing to put in exceptional effort, whereas speed is something that can't be taught. Pham is also quickly raising her slugging percentage as she becomes a true triple threat.
