About Kaitlin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

During games, I am calm and relaxed mentally but physically explosive. I’m confident in my team and myself and laser-focused. As Catcher see EVERYTHING, the way batters stand and walk to the plate, the way pitchers have a tell. The skiddish and also the over-eager runners.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am confident and driven- I want to play my best and to be the best on and off the field, but I also like to relax and enjoy down-time. I spend time with friends, listen to Lady Gaga, and play Minecraft and Roblox, but I also study Astronomy and Extreme Weather on my own. I’m a Catcher, so you know there’s a little something crazy but calculated in there!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in Choir, Youth Group, Teaching Reading to 1st graders, Animal Rescue, & Volunteering at my local Nursing Home. I have School Awards for Kindness, Leadership, & Good Citizenship. I was found to be Gifted in Creative Thinking, English, Math, & Science, & I take Honors classes in those subjects. I’ve been on the Principal’s List since 4th grade, and a local News Channel shared my story

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have gained leadership and confidence as Team Captain and have taught teamwork and confidence while teaching reading to 1st graders! I have embraced lifting and defending those who need help by caring for wounded and abandoned animals and helping the elderly and disabled at our nearby Nursing Home.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was pressed for encouragement and drive when I suffered a major calf strain and couldn’t play for awhile, but I kept training, even in the Winter, going to my front yard and throwing down to a metal shooting target at 2nd while sitting in a bucket in the snow. I lost both of my grandmas, my uncle, & my great aunt in the span of 8 months, and then our dog got hit by a car. That took time to heal.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to play at a college who offers my interested field of study while challenging me to be my best both on and off the field.
