About Emerson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a dedicated right handed pitcher. I strive everyday to improve not only my physical performance but my softball IQ. I am independent and driven to succeed and I also love supporting my teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am pretty calm and level headed most of the time but I love to compete. I work hard to get in the mindset of always thinking about the play at hand and then letting that go once it’s over and focusing on the next one.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am the vice president of my local 4H club and I show my dogs at the county and state level. I am also an active member of FFA.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have become a stronger team leader as a pitcher. This helps me to motivate others to be their best and to work for the best interest of our team. I do a lot of community service events with 4H and FFA and I love having an impact on others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This year I tore my ACL and lateral meniscus. This has been not only a physical challenge but a mental challenge. I am working every single day to get back to 100% and I know this will soon just be a memory in my sports journey.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’d like to go to a 4 year university with a high level softball team that can push me to be the best player I can be.
