When an athlete displays hustle, speed, and the ability to be extremely effective at slapping from the left side of the plate, she turns heads and stays on a college coach’s radar. After two tournaments so far this fall, it’s clear that Alyssa Muhlbach plays like a seasoned veteran and loves to compete. Due to her speed and slapping abilities, many defenses have attempted to put a shift on her to limit the damage she inflicts offensively, but Muhlbach is more than prepared for that and is consistently able to hit around the shifts. Muhlbach carries her elite speed from the offensive side of the ball into her outfield play, covering every blade of grass, either on foot or with her uniform, as she lays her body on the line for her team.
