Class 3 Eldon was anything but an easy out for opponents this past season. The Mustangs concluded the 2025 fall season with a 20-6 record in large part because of Madison Atwell's bat. She played in 14 games this past season for the Mustangs and made the most of the time she had on the field. Atwell batted .479 while driving in 18 RBIs, scoring 19 runs and delivering nine doubles. She also managed an on-base percentage of .519 plus a slugging percentage of .771. Among her many highlights of this past season was when she put her team in the win column in early September by virtue of a walk-off home run against California for a 4-3 victory in 13 innings.

The Red Knights of Class 4 Incarnate Word have at least two freshmen whose names are worth remembering for the next few seasons. One of those 2029s was Makenna Brannam, who helped the Red Knights qualify for a berth in this past season's Class 4 state tournament. In addition to what she gets accomplished as an infielder, Brannam is also a right-handed pitcher. She played in 21 games this past season, sporting Incarnate Word's signature colors, and posted a .424 batting average with four home runs and 20 RBIs. Brannam also helped the Red Knights' cause with 12 doubles and two triples, plus a slugging percentage of .848.

Jillian Abegg was another noteworthy 2029 prospect who was an important piece of Incarnate Word's puzzle this season. She saw playing time in 24 contests this past campaign for the Red Knights. Abegg batted .333 and mostly hit for contact with nine doubles and three triples, in addition to 21 RBIs. Those 21 RBIs had her ranked among the leaders in the Show-Me State for freshmen batters. Abegg also finished the 2025 fall campaign with a .573 slugging percentage, plus an on-base percentage of .416. There were a number of high points to Abegg's stellar 2025 season, one of which occurred in late September when she plated four runs and scored two of her own in five at-bats in an 18-6 victory over Ursuline Academy.

The Eagles of Class 3 Southern Boone established themselves as a team to beat in 2024. Thanks in large part to Brenna Young's bat, that status was solidified for the Eagles, as the team put together back-to-back seasons with at least 20 wins. Southern Boone also qualified for one of the eight berths in the Class 3 state tournament. Young saw playing time in 28 games last season. A great deal of her success occurred in the circle, as she finished at 5-2 with an ERA of 2.52. Young continued making things difficult for batters on the travel circuit with Iowa Premier 14U Dickel/Paz. At the Battle of the Clubs in Fort Myers, she tossed 14 innings while striking out 12 and only allowing three walks.

Kynlee Sommer gave more than enough indications this past season that she is more than ready to be the ace of Class 2 Seneca's pitching staff for the next three seasons. She made seven appearances this year and posted a 3.25 ERA. One of Sommer's signature performances in the circle occurred in early October against Class 3 Monett. Seneca may have been on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to the Cubs, but Sommer's arm kept her team in the contest from start to finish, as she tossed a complete game, allowing only one earned run and retiring nine Monett batters via the strikeout.
