Bremen matched up against Gordon Lee in the 1A Division 1 championship and Savannah Langley carved up the Trojans' lineup from the circle. She hurled a complete-game, three-hitter and only allowed one earned run on championship Saturday. Regardless of which team was in the other dugout, getting hits on Bremen was a task all weekend. Langley only allowed a grand total of two runs in four games the entire weekend. Langley's arm also came through the previous day in a 2-1 nail-biter against Armuchee, during which she tossed another complete game while striking out eight batters.

Kell would depart from Columbus as 4A runner-up. Maggie Willmott is a multi-sport athlete who also plays basketball for the Longhorns. Her bat powered Kell to another deep postseason run. In the 4A final when the Longhorns' opponent—Eastside—was thinking run-rule, a fifth-inning single, which drove in a run, began a Kell rally. As a slapper, most of Willmott's hits will be for contact as opposed to power. She is also likely to get on base via the walk. Willmott is at the top of the Longhorns' batting order, and she drew a walk in the top of the first inning of that contest with Eastside and was plated on a single two batters later, which gave Kell an early 1-0 lead.

Jaycee Archer's right arm was a major reason why her Cherokee Bluff team made a deep postseason run. Even though the Bears were on the receiving end of a 2-1, nine-inning defeat to Heritage, Archer made sure her team had a chance to win from start to finish. She tossed every Cherokee Bluff pitch in that 3A championship contest, and only allowed one walk and one earned run. Earlier in the 3A tournament, the Bears were on the good end of a 10-2, five-inning run-rule victory over LaFayette. Archer not only gave Cherokee Bluff five solid innings in the circle, but she also helped out the Bears with her bat. She singled in the third inning against the Ramblers and drew an intentional walk in the same frame.

Runner-up status in the 2A field would be bestowed upon the Bulldogs of Morgan County. Aziyah Robertson came through with a clutch hit in the Morgan County half of the fifth inning. With one runner on base, Robertson drilled a two-run home run to left field to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead in its 2A state championship contest against Sonoraville. Prior to that contest, Robertson also delivered a pair of singles—one of which came on a leadoff bunt in the bottom of the first in a matchup against Appling County, where offense was at a premium. That contest concluded in a 1-0 win for the Bulldogs.

The real deal that is [player_tooltip player_id='107033' first='Keren' last='Leal'] ensured Brookwood would make its presence known during the 6A final eight. The Broncos had a 3-2 showing this past weekend in Columbus, in large part thanks to Leal's work at the plate. Her team may have been on the receiving end of a 3-2 decision to East Coweta for a berth in the 6A state game, but Leal put her team in a position to score by being patient at the plate and drawing a couple of walks. Prior to that, Brookwood earned a 5-0 victory over North Cobb. Four of those five runs were thanks to the Troy commit, as she delivered a second-inning grand slam.

Alyssa Martin's South Effingham team was one of the final two squads standing in the 5A realm. In that 5A state championship contest against Creekview, Martin helped the Mustangs' cause with a fifth-inning single on a 2-1 count. Martin's bat put South Effingham in a position to claim a berth in that 5A state game by virtue of the Mustangs' 8-5 victory over Veterans. In the top of the fourth inning, Martin delivered an RBI single, which made it a 4-0 score at the time in favor of South Effingham. Earlier that weekend, Martin had one of the big hits in a 12-0, six-inning rout of Jackson County—a three-run home run in the top of the fifth of that contest.

A few weeks prior to the tournament, [player_tooltip player_id='107041' first='Chloe' last='Wolfenbarger'] announced that she will play her collegiate softball at Florida Gulf Coast. Wolfenbarger already has a state championship on her resumé after Harris County prevailed in 4A last year. This year, the Tigers faced off against Eastside on Saturday, and the winner earned a championship get-together with Kell later that day. Wolfenbarger's four hits, two RBIs and one walk were nearly enough to lift Harris County over Eastside. Earlier in the tournament, Wolfenbarger hit two home runs in a 14-3, six-inning rout over Cartersville, and contributed another in a 9-1 victory over Wayne County.

If a team in the 1A Division 1 field was looking to earn a victory over Armuchee, that meant getting hits off of Aubrey McConkey. For much of the state tournament, that was a tall task. One of the more impressive performances for the junior Armuchee hurler occurred on Friday against eventual state champion Bremen. The Blue Devils may have defeated Armuchee, 2-1, but Bremen had a tough time putting together offense against McConkey. She threw a complete game, while allowing only three hits, two earned runs and three walks. She also struck out nine Blue Devils batters. Prior to that, she fanned nine batters in an 8-0 win over Bacon County and 13 in a 2-1 victory over Dade County.

North Cobb finished in fourth place out of the eight teams that took part in the 6A states in Columbus. The Warriors' final victory of the season occurred on Friday against Richmond Hill. It was a close 5-4 victory over the Wildcats, as Kennedy Sylvester got the scoring going for North Cobb in the top of the third. Taking an aggressive approach to her at-bat, Sylvester fouled off the first pitch and then sailed a solo home run to the deepest part of the park to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. Sylvester also scored two runs and drew two walks in a 7-4 North Cobb victory over Walton.

Buford ran completely roughshod over the rest of Georgia high school softball this past season. The Wolves were heavy favorites to win 6A, and they did indeed do so in commanding fashion to take home this year's championship. Liberty-commit Ella Pierce Hensley was a major part of the hit parade that powered Buford to a 16-1, three-inning run-rule victory over East Coweta. She singled in the Wolves' half of the first and third innings, scored two runs and drove in two as well. She also drew a walk. Earlier that weekend, Hensley also slugged a home run that contributed to a 7-0 victory for Buford over Brookwood. The Wolves not only concluded the season as 6A champions, but they also did so with a 36-0 record.
