About Josie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a right handed pitcher, I can place pitches on edges of strike zone and can throw curve and screwball. I'm also a reliable first baseman that can make plays on hard hits and off-target throws. I like hitting for power and collecting extra base hits.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I like high pressure situations. I'm not afraid to make a play or bat when the game is on the line. I also play the game for fun and it's important that I'm a good teammate and leader.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play basketball and am on student council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I try to be a good mentor and leader for younger players. I'm also a volunteer coach for younger girls.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had a high ankle sprain during basketball that took 3 months to recover from. It affected my softball off season. It was frustrating to do PT and not be able to play, but it made me appreciate being healthy once I recovered.

The Hawks of Horace saw a noteworthy jump in victories from 2024 to 2025, and Josie Carriere Josie Carriere Josie Carriere RHP/1B West Fargo Horace | 2029 ND was a catalyst for that success. Following the end of that season, she began her travel ball campaign with Fargo-Moorhead Blaze Orange 14U. In her first game of the summer club slate, she fanned 12 batters in a 4-0 victory over Casselton. Not only is Carriere a force to be reckoned with in the circle, but she is also lethal at the plate. At the West Fargo Unified tournament, Carriere posted a robust .789 batting average with 15 RBIs, along with striking out 31 hitters in 14 innings. Carriere is just getting started.
