Five 2029s Who Are Standing Out This Fall

Fall softball is in full swing, and the class of 2029 is already making a strong impression. With fall tournaments and showcases heating up around the country, September revealed a group of young athletes who are stepping up and standing out. Whether it's their commanding presence in the circle, explosive power at the plate, or smooth defensive play, these players are showing they have what it takes to compete at the next level. Below, Prep Softball highlights five 2029s who are turning heads and building early recruiting momentum this fall season. Lalia Mejia may be the hardest-working athlete in the entire 2029 class. While her team has yet to take the field this fall, Lalia's relentless drive and discipline are already setting her apart. From sunrise to sunset, she's grinding, balancing intense training with her academic responsibilities and showing no signs of slowing down. As a catcher, her athleticism is elite: she's clocked a six-minute mile (and still improving), boasts a 1.62 pop time, a 65 mph overhand velocity, and a 76 mph exit velocity. She's training nearly every day of the week, and when she finally steps onto the field this fall, expect plenty of eyes to be watching. Lalia isn't just preparing, she's positioning herself to dominate. Capri “Turbo” Mark is living up to her nickname, and then some. Capri is currently in the thick of her high school season in Oklahoma, and she's proving why she's one of the most exciting prospects in the country. A left-handed hitter with elite bat speed and smooth mechanics, she consistently delivers at the plate. Defensively, she's a clean and confident middle infielder with quick hands and sharp instincts. But what truly sets her apart is her speed. Her natural athleticism, paired with her competitive edge, makes her a player who is destined to thrive at the highest levels of the sport. LG Goldin is a name you'll want to remember in the 2029 class. Coming from a highly athletic family, LG brings both natural talent and a competitive edge to the field, and she's already proving she belongs among the elite players in her class. This fall, she's off to a standout start with the powerhouse Buford softball program out of Georgia. Despite being just a freshman, LG is consistently leading her team with clutch performances, including hitting multiple home runs at the plate. Her athleticism extends beyond softball, as she's also a champion in the long jump, showcasing her explosive power and versatility. With her early impact and high ceiling, LG is on a fast track to becoming one of the most sought-after players in her class. Trinity Hargrett is quietly building a standout season in the heart of high school softball. Competing for one of the top 5A programs in her home state of Georgia, Trinity is showing off her smooth, consistent game both at the plate and in the field. A stellar hitter with a disciplined approach, she delivers quality at-bats and keeps pressure on opposing defenses. Defensively, she's a reliable and composed middle infielder with sharp fundamentals and a strong presence. As her high school season continues, Trinity is proving she's not just a member of a top-tier team, but she's also one of the key reasons it's thriving. Jordyn Meier-Turczyn is putting together an impressive fall season, showing she's a true dual-threat on the diamond. With multiple victories already under her belt, Jordyn has proven to be a pitcher her team can count on, and she's backed that up with a no-hitter performance this fall. At the plate, she's just as reliable, consistently contributing to her team's success. On top of her softball achievements, Jordyn is also competing in high school volleyball, showcasing her versatility and athleticism. Her ability to balance multiple sports while performing at a high level speaks volumes about her work ethic and competitive spirit.
