How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a pitcher, I like being aggressive in the circle, starting with a first-pitch strike to get ahead in the count. I work with my catcher to select pitches based on each batter’s previous at-bat. At the plate, I like to be disciplined and strategic. I use my knowledge of the strike zone from the mound to guide my approach. I'm comfortable working deep into counts and staying patient for my pitch.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I approach games with a competitive and focused mindset, adjusting to what my team needs in the moment. Whether I’m pitching, hitting, or supporting from the dugout, I put the team first and lead by example. I pride myself on being coachable, resilient, and positive, and I work hard to improve and help my teammates succeed. My goal is to be someone my team feels confident in during any situation.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was awarded the President's Award for Academic Excellence in both English and Math, and I co-founded the Women in Sports Club with a friend at school. I also work with Bustin' Barriers, a nonprofit serving kids and young adults with disabilities.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through softball, I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills. As a pitcher, I lead by staying composed under pressure and communicating clearly with my catcher and teammates. I’m also very coachable and always eager to learn and improve. Outside of softball, I volunteer with kids with disabilities, which has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of uplifting others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced a few significant challenges along my softball journey. I’ve had to work hard to balance the costs of travel, equipment, and training, which has taught me the value of dedication and resourcefulness. Additionally, I’ve dealt with injuries that at times set me back physically and mentally. I’ve learned to be patient with my recovery, stay focused on my goals, and work even harder.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that meets both my academic and athletic preferences. I want to feel like a family and become a part of something that is more than just a sports team. At the same time, I want to feel challenged in the classroom and take classes tailored to my interests within my major.
