About Emilee

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a hardworking and focused player who always tries to support my team. As a pitcher, I stay calm and try to mix up my pitches to keep hitters guessing. At first base, I work on being consistent and making smart plays. I love competing and always try to give my best effort.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I stay mentally strong no matter the situation and always try to lead by example. I’m supportive of my teammates and bring a positive attitude to every game and practice. I’m proud to be someone my coaches and teammates can count on.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m not currently involved in any clubs or organizations outside of softball, but I’m really interested in joining some soon. I’m always looking for new ways to grow, meet people, and challenge myself off the field too.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Softball has helped me grow into a strong leader and a tough competitor, both on and off the field. I’ve learned how to stay focused and positive even when things get challenging, and I’ve seen how teamwork and supporting others can make a big difference. These experiences have really shaped who I am and how I approach everything I do.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I’ve faced is comparing myself to others on social media, which sometimes made me doubt myself. But I’ve worked hard to build my confidence and focus on my own journey. Setting personal goals and staying committed to improving has helped me grow, both as a player and as a person. I’ve learned that real progress comes from believing in yourself and putting in the work.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that will help me grow both as a student and an athlete. I want a school that supports me academically and athletically, with coaches and professors who care about my success. I’m also hoping to be part of a positive and motivated student community where people encourage each other and share similar goals.

We highlighted Emilee Cosgrove Emilee Cosgrove Emilee Cosgrove RHP/1B Casa Roble | 2030 CA in our piece on 2030s who could be future No. 1 prospects in their class, but she is worth another mention after her great start to the fall. At a PGF tournament over the first weekend of October, Cosgrove allowed just two earned runs in 13 innings, striking out 15 and throwing first-pitch strikes to more than 70 percent of the batters she faced. In September at another PGF event, she batted .385 with two doubles and three runs driven in while pitching to a 1.75 ERA. Cosgrove’s screwball is an especially strong weapon for her, as is a changeup that is simply filthy when it’s on. She also has good swing mechanics, working to time up pitchers without trying to do too much. That doesn’t mean she can’t hit home runs—Cosgrove has easy-looking power and a smooth swing that can drive the ball over the fence.
