Madison McHenry built upon her freshman season into her sophomore campaign this year. Playing in 10 more games this season, McHenry was consistent at the plate and disciplined in her approach. She had more walks (24) than strikeouts (20), compared to a freshman season in which she had more strikeouts (23) than walks (12). McHenry, a shortstop, utility player and right-handed pitcher, also hit for more power this year. She connected for 12 doubles and 14 home runs in 101 at-bats. McHenry also played a key role in Donelson Christian Academy’s state championship victory. As a sophomore, she led the team in home runs, RBI (57) and slugging percentage (.970).
