Expert Analysis
Benjamin Rosenberg | Prep Softball Scout
A varsity starter since she was in seventh grade, Aspen Boulware has emerged as a superstar over the last two seasons and batted .573 with 22 homers, eight triples and nine doubles with 67 runs scored in just 34 games as a sophomore. She drew 34 walks with just four strikeouts and put up a 2.379 OPS, and she complemented her power with game-changing speed, stealing 26 bases. Boulware was named tournament MVP for gold medal–winning Team USA at the 2023 WBSC U-15 World Cup, collecting eight hits in 19 at-bats with four home runs. Her mother, Jessica van der Linden, was an All-American pitcher at Florida State, and Boulware seems destined for just as decorated a college softball career. With a complete offensive profile and an outstanding feel for the game at shortstop, it’s almost unfair that Boulware still has two more years before she can make her mark at the next level.
