In her first six high school games with Oxnard this year, Herrera has hit .467 with four RBI. She has earned three pitching wins across six appearances, striking out 34 en route to a 1.93 ERA against a tough set of opponents in California. While it is still early, both performances represent improvements over her freshman season. Herrera spent the winter on the basketball court, where she was a Ventura County first-team selection. During her busy softball offseason, Herrera also visited UCLA for camp, as she progresses toward being eligible for full recruitment in September.
