Marisa Bryson, a Northern California product committed to Stanford, has been a steady performer for three years now at the high school level. In 27 games as a junior, she is hitting .625 with 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 42 runs scored, good for an OPS of 1.788. She hit two grand slams in one game in April, finishing 4-for-5 with 11 RBI. Bryson drives the ball with ease out to the opposite field as a right-handed hitter and is a top-notch defender at shortstop, particularly when it comes to ranging to her backhand side and making the long throw across the diamond to first. Like her cousin, former Red Sox star Dustin Pedroia, Bryson is a slick-fielding middle infielder, and she will be an asset on both sides of the ball for Jessica Allister and the Cardinal.
