While the class of 2031 is not yet in high school, that does not mean players cannot begin making an impact against quality competition. The best are stepping up both for themselves and their teams as the fall season separates the more elite athletes from the rest.

Below, Prep Softball highlights five players from the high school class of 2031 who are trending up this fall season.

Mya Dennison's skill behind the plate pairs with her ability in the batter's box to make for a complete softball player. She started the month of October with a four-win weekend on her Ohio Storm team, including driving in two runs and stealing a base while catching a big win over Cap City Force. During the summer season, Dennison caught a hefty 158.2 innings and threw out 19 baserunners between attempted steals and pickoffs. Dennison also has the versatility to play anywhere on the diamond, making her a good fit for any team.

Playing in the pressure cooker that is Georgia school softball, Jordyn Artis has found success in the circle this fall. In a nine-inning effort in September, Artis threw a no-hitter with 26 strikeouts as she battled through 110 pitches to give her team a one-run win. She followed that up by striking out 10 batters alongside a 3-for-3 day at the plate with two triples in her final regular-season region game. Artis can consistently deliver under pressure, a skill that will further aid her against increasingly tough teams.

Tatum Cochran is a player who consistently delivers her best batting performance in every tournament she plays. She played as a guest on a Canes club team back in September and hit an impressive .900 over a weekend tournament, posting a 3.100 OPS and five triples. Over the summer, Cochran excelled at the USA Softball All-American Games, earning 11 hits and six extra-base hits in 13 at-bats. Cochran attended camp at Colorado State, as colleges have already taken notice of this talented young prospect.

Elin Gunkel did not need any time at all to ease into this fall club season. During her first weekend with her Power Softball Watkins club team, Gunkel hit .500, picking up six hits while also contributing seven innings in the circle. The performance comes off a school season with Montverde Academy in which Gunkel contributed her pitching and batting skills in big ways. After a successful school season, Gunkel is contributing effectively to her club team.

Rebecca Espinoza is a steady presence behind the plate in addition to being a key contributor for her teams in the batter's box. She has already received college attention from Virginia with a camp invite over the summer. During this fall season with her Stars National team, Espinoza contributed to an undefeated championship run at the Potomac River Clash at the 16U level, proving she is ready for tough competition. Espinoza's RBI in the fourth inning started a rally that sealed the championship for her team. Espinoza is ready for anything softball throws at her this fall.
