2030 Prospects Already Standing Out This Fall

It's never too early to let college coaches know they should have your name on their list. As fall ball action heats up around the country, freshmen everywhere are swinging and sprinting their way to the top of recruiting lists.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five prospects from the high school graduating class of 2030 who are already standing out this fall.    With the way Emorie Frank has been swinging it lately, her bat might as well be on fire. In her first season with the Sandy Creek Patriots, she has 12 extra-base hits in 21 games played, including five doubles and five home runs. In fact, nearly 55% of her total hits for the season up to this point have gone for extra bases. Like all elite sluggers, she also draws plenty of walks—17 so far to be exact. And when she gets on base, she doesn't hesitate to run. She has 11 stolen bases and has crossed home plate 29 times. She has also delivered four wins for her team in the circle and has struck out 51 batters over 44 innings pitched. When the Patriots have needed her, she has come through every single time.     Where do you even start about Keagan Pounds? She has been a machine at the plate with 31 RBIs in only 20 games played so far this season. She has a batting average of .528 with nine doubles and six home runs. As a freshman, she leads the Alexander Cougars in nearly every offensive category. However, that's not all. She has also been stellar in the circle with an 11-6 record and a 2.84 ERA. She has struck out 100 batters over 83 innings pitched and has only allowed 18 walks. Defensively, she has committed only one error so far this season and has 23 assists. She is a competitive, confident, and highly-skilled athlete. The Cougars are playing an exciting brand of softball, and Pounds is right in the middle of it.     Consistency is the name of the game for Ava Fluegge. In her first season with The Classical Academy Titans, she has hit safely in 10 of 13 games played so far. Furthermore, in two of those games, she went 8-for-10 at the plate with 11 RBIs. She has a simple, easy swing perfect for making contact and hitting looping line drives over infielders' heads. Her consistency at the plate transfers over to the circle as well. She has a 3-2 record in eight appearances for the Titans and a 3.12 ERA. As of this writing, she has struck out twice as many batters as walks allowed and has only surrendered four home runs. She continues to work on eliciting weak contact and is a valuable player on the Titans roster.     Some softball players simply seem to have that clutch gene, and Kristian Dorsey is one of them. In a wild game earlier this season that ended in a 16-15 victory for the Sprayberry Yellowjackets over the Northview Titans, Dorsey led the way for her team. The freshman went 4-for-6, scored five runs, blasted a dinger, and drove in two runs. Her composure at the plate and knowledge of the strike zone have led to 12 walks and only three strikeouts at the time of this writing for the Georgia native. She is fast—four triples and five stolen bases prove it—and agile in the field. She is quickly proving herself to be a pesky and determined athlete.     In only her second game as a West Forsyth Wolverine, Ella Chester went deep and picked up two hits on the day. Just over a week later, she blasted another long ball, and then another three days after that. It's safe to say leaving a pitch in the strike zone to Chester is a risky move to make. In total, she has 29 hits for the season, with 12 of them going for extra bases, including seven doubles. She swings hard, but keeps her bat in the strike zone and under control. She also puts in the work off the field and is a good role model for younger players.
