2030s Who Made A Name For Themselves This Summer

Making a name for yourself doesn't happen with one good game. For these 2030 athletes, it came from putting together strong performances throughout the summer at some of the biggest tournaments. These athletes competed against the country's top talent and put up huge numbers.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five prospects from the 2030 graduating class who made a name for themselves this summer.    Avery Price spent the summer playing with LLG Futures, a roster made up primarily of 2029s. This 2030 center fielder used her speed to cover plenty of ground and took plenty of hits away. At the plate, the lefty can bunt, slap, or swing away and finished second on the team with a .420 batting average and .484 on-base percentage. Price also led the team with 20 stolen bases. She was a key piece of LLG Futures' run to a 13th-place finish at the 14U Premier PGF Nationals, capping off a strong summer against older competition.     Tyler Orebaugh gave hitters a lot to deal with in the circle this summer. The right-handed pitcher, who throws in the 63-65 mph range, throws a heavy screwball and rise ball that can be tough to square up. At PGF Premier Nationals, Orebaugh threw 25 innings with 40 strikeouts and held hitters to a .189 batting average. She also piled up 50 strikeouts over 29 innings during the Colorado Sparkler. Orebaugh already made her name in the 2030 class. However, her summer in the circle helped her take another step forward on the national radar.     Kaelynn Carnes made a big jump this summer in her performances on the field. The 2030 right-handed pitcher struck out more than 100 batters and had some of her best outings when the competition got tougher. At the Triple Crown National Championships, Carnes led Top Gun 13 National to the championship game. They finished as co-champions, and Carnes earned overall MVP honors. She was also selected for the 14U IDT All-Star Game, consistently showcasing her skills in high-pressure situations. Carnes' ability to step up in big games, compete, and lead makes her a standout.     Violet Trujillo made her mark this summer with what she can do in the outfield and from the left side of the plate. She is another 2030 outfielder who sees the ball well off the bat, takes charge in the outfield, and has the range to cover from one gap to another. Trujillo can bunt, slap, or swing for power. She also knows how to use her speed and is always looking for ways to get into scoring position for her teammates. Trujillo is known for her high softball IQ, which is evident in her play and is a major reason she stood out this summer.     Addison Ozgo spent a lot of time in the circle this summer and compiled a ton of strikeouts along the way. She is a 2030 right-hander who threw 169 innings, struck out 277 batters, and finished with a 1.45 ERA. A power pitcher with good velocity and plenty of movement, Ozgo isn't afraid to attack hitters and has shown she can work deep into games. Those numbers are truly hard to ignore. Ozgo's heavy rise ball and changeup showcase why she's gaining attention in her class.
