10 2030 Top Performers From Alliance Open Nationals

This year's Alliance Fastpitch Open Nationals took place in the Chattanooga metropolitan area and utilized a number of venues in both Tennessee and Georgia. One of the many sites that played host to a great week of softball was Heritage Point in Dalton. In fitting local fashion, all 10 of its fields are adorned in infield astroturf.    We at Prep Softball were on hand for the Alliance festivities. We continue our post-Alliance coverage by spotlighting plenty of the rising freshmen who brought their A-games last week.     Scarlett King's superb play helped her SoCal Athletics 2029 National team reach the championship game of the 14U division at Alliance Open Nationals. Her team won all but two games during its time in Chattanooga. One of her big days occurred on Thursday when SoCal Athletics 2029 National defeated Texas Blaze 14U Gold KTX by a final score of 8-3. King came through with three hits, including two doubles, and a pair of runs scored. She commenced her Alliance week emphatically, as she scored two runs, drove in a run, and delivered two more hits in a 7-2 victory over RI Thunder LFC 14U Schmeiser/Carriero.      As evidenced by winning all but two games during their time in Chattanooga, Dodgers National 29/30 was another of the teams to beat this past week. Lilly Wall's team's first matchup of Alliance would result in a 7-5 win over Power Softball 14U Nixon. She allowed five hits and only two earned runs plus one walk while striking out five. Wall caused problems for opposing teams at the plate as well. In a 7-4 victory on Wednesday against Fusion Premier Bynum 29/30, Wall doubled twice, while also driving in two runs and scoring once. She collected two more RBIs in an 8-6 win over Top Gun 29/30 Simmons Parker 14U.      Firecrackers FL 29/30 can look proudly at its performance at Alliance Open Nationals, as it was placed in the loss column only twice. On Thursday, Ava Shaffer and her team were tough to get out, as Firecrackers FL 29/30 blew out Ohio Bombers 2011 by a final score of 13-0. Shaffer's double accounted for one of the team's four extra-base hits and she also scored two runs. Shaffer would make a massive difference the following day when her team earned a 7-5 victory over Turnin2 14U Nahavandi. She had a big game with four RBIs, a double, and a home run.      Jaylen Cooper is a multi-sport athlete who also showcases her athletic talents on the basketball hardwood as well as on the softball diamond. She proved to be an important catalyst behind what was a solid week in Chattanooga for TN Mojo 29/30 Murnahan. Her team went 5-3-1 over the week's play. She had one of two extra-base hits for her squad and also scored a run in a 4-3 win against Turnin2 14U Nahavandi. The right fielder also scored two runs, drove in two more, and delivered two hits, including a double, on Friday when TN Mojo 29/30 Murnahan blanked OK Athletics Madden/Davis 2012 by a final score of 12-0.     A name on the rise from Saint James School in Alabama, Carleigh Mattox helped her Gametime VS12 Premier 13U team to a 5-2 record at Alliance. That was good enough for a top-16 finish in Chattanooga. Mattox proved to be one of the top hitters in the 14U field, as she concluded Alliance play with a .733 batting average. Mattox scored eight runs, drove in four more, and stole four bases. Defensively, she gave her team plenty of innings at second base and behind the plate. Mattox was a guest player this past week with Gametime VS12 Premier 13U, and primarily plays with Lady Stix on the club circuit.      Because of Mikayla Maurer's right arm, Turnin2 Julien 14U concluded its time at Alliance Open Nationals with a 5-2 record. Maurer wasted no time establishing that she would be one of the 14U division's top pitchers in a contest with Unity 13U Umansky. Her team gave Maurer plenty of run support in an 8-0 victory, but Maurer did her job by holding the opposition to only one hit. She tossed four innings and allowed only one walk while striking out nine Unity 13U Umansky batters. Maurer also threw all five innings in a 9-1 win over OK Athletics Madden/Davis 2012, and struck out five hitters while allowing only one walk and one earned run, and one hit once again.      As a Georgia name, it will not be long before Rawlins Williams begins her school ball schedule with Prince Avenue Christian. She is a multi-sport athlete who also excels as a basketball player in addition to what she gets accomplished on the softball diamond. Atlanta Vipers Johnson/Henry 14U went 6-3 at Alliance Open Nationals. Hitting at the top of the order, she greatly helped in her team's 8-5 win over Ohio Stingrays 2029 Thompson National. Her game included a double, a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI. In a 12-0 blowout of Texas Blaze Gold Futures Gabriel 14U, Williams scored three runs and was a home run shy of the cycle.      LK Lytle can spend plenty of time behind the plate as a catcher, but also thrives as a utility player. A rising prospect out of Arkansas, her play was instrumental in D1Vision 14U Elite departing from Chattanooga with a 5-3 record. She got things going on Wednesday with a solo home run, which was one of the two runs she scored in a contest against Texas Blaze Gold Futures Gabriel 14U. D1Vision 14U Elite won 6-2. Lytle kept things going with a double, a triple, and two RBIs in a matchup with Gametime VS12 Premier 13U. On Thursday, two more doubles and two more runs from Lytle lifted D1Vision 14U Elite to a 7-3 win over Unity Marchiano 13U.      Texas Elite National 14U may have gone 3-4 at this year's Alliance Open Nationals, but it did not lose a game by more than three runs. It won its first contest against TN Firecrackers Roberts 2029 with the final score being 8-3. Jayli Hill had three hits, all singles, and scored on all three occasions she reached base. She did the exact same thing on Friday against NC Stars National Humble 14U, and her team needed those three runs considering it only won by one run (10-9). As someone who bats leadoff in the Texas Elite National 14U order, she understands the art of hitting for contact as opposed to power. Hill had plenty of hits, but did not have an extra-base hit until the final day of Alliance play when she doubled against Texas Blaze 14U Gold KTX.      Defensively, one can place Addisyn Amadeo in a team's lineup as a middle infielder or anywhere else on the field, considering she is a solid utility player. The Mount Carmel Academy standout helped her Louisiana Voodoo Gold Barksdale/Dufrene 14U team to a 6-2 record at Alliance Open Nationals. On Wednesday, her team defeated Vibe Arnold 14U by a final of 10-7, and her double accounted for one of her team's three extra-base hits. She also scored a run and finished that contest with two RBIs. In an 11-6 win over TN Firecrackers Roberts 2029, Amadeo boosted her team with two more doubles, two more runs scored, and two more RBIs. She also plays basketball.
