Under-The-Radar 2029 Prospects To Watch

Not all softball prospects in the 2029 class are national names. In fact, there are quite a few talented prospects in the class who are flying under the radar at this point in their recruiting journeys. And we see it as part of our job to uncover those names and bring them into the national recruiting conversation.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five under-the-radar prospects to watch from the high school graduating class of 2029.    Ellory Farmer out of Florida is a standout prospect from the 2029 class. With a ton of pop in her bat and the athleticism to play both third base and behind the plate at catcher, Farmer brings a ton to offer to the softball field. She competes for Seminole High School in school ball and Rock Gold Diab on the club circuit, and has made an impact on both of those squads. She is certainly a player to watch as her recruiting processes continues into her sophomore year.     Hailing from the state of Washington, Lilith Beach is a talented and competitive prospect in the 2029 class. A right-handed pitcher and shortstop, Beach attends Puyallup High School and boasts a 3.95 GPA there. Standing at 5'8" and still growing, Beach plays club ball competitively for New Level Tyree National 16G, and gets it done in the circle for her squad. She is a true dual-threat athlete, as she can do big things as both a pitcher and a hitter on the softball field.     Teegan Van Dorn from Missouri is another stellar 2029 prospect. Standing at 5'3", Van Dorn is a right-handed thrower and hitter who brings athleticism and versatility to the field for both Grain Valley High School and also ROI Fastpitch on the club softball circuit. Both a catcher and a second baseman, Van Dorn also gets it done in the classroom, as she maintains a 3.92 GPA there. With ongoing work, we expect Van Dorn to continue to improve her skills as time goes on.     Ava Ryefield is a true student-athlete in the 2029 class. Hailing from Georgia, Ryefield attends Pace Academy and possesses an unweighted 4.0 GPA in the classroom. Competing for EC Bullets 16U Oh-Cato in travel ball and playing a challenging schedule with them, Ryefield uses her speed to impress in the middle infield. Her 2.9-second home-to-first time also helps her to stand out in her club team's strong lineup. Ryefield has already attended college camps and clinics to both help her to improve her already impressive skill set and to aid in her recruiting process.     Finley Thomas from Georgia is an intriguing prospect in the 2029 class. A catcher and utility player with a 1.65 pop time, Thomas stands at 5'6" and possesses an athletic build. A student at Prince Avenue Christian School with a 4.0 GPA, Thomas was a 2025 First-Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-State selection. She competes on the travel circuit with Armor Elite Lynch 2010, and has some serious pop in her bat to go along with her defensive prowess in the field.
