2029 Prospects Showing Advanced Tools

The summer softball season is in full swing, and athletes from all over the country are in the midst of playing and performing in front of onlooking college coaches. And it's the players with the advanced tools, like the 2029 prospects listed here, who most often get noticed.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five prospects from the high school graduating class of 2029 who are showing advanced tools on softball fields around the country this summer.    Katherine Handy from Virginia describes her playing style as "accurate, controlled, and consistent," which is a modest way of saying that she is a high-level talent in the 2029 class. The second baseman, catcher, and utility player for Grassfield High School and 5 Star National 29/30 Crawford has a throwing velocity of 54 mph, an exit velocity of 67 mph, and a pop time of 2.07 seconds. She also holds a 4.0 GPA in the classroom, showing that she cares just as much about her school work as she does about her softball pursuits. She clearly has tools on and off the field.     Campbell Taylor from California can truly do it all. The middle infielder and utility player in the 2029 class is a threat both on the softball field and in the classroom. Boasting a 4.4 GPA, Taylor attends Maranatha High School and also plays club softball for OC Batbusters Legacy Maroon. For her play during the 2026 high school softball season against elite California competition, Taylor was named CIF-SS D4 All-CIF, proving that she is the real deal on the diamond.     Cecelia Wilson is a 2029 prospect out of Iowa who is an all-around solid athlete and recruit in her class. Wilson possesses the athleticism to be both a catcher and middle infielder for her teams, and can play anywhere on the diamond where her team needs her. Attending Nevada High School and playing club ball for the Iowa Aries, Wilson is aggressive at the plate with both good contact-hitting abilities and power in her bat. She also maintains a 3.91 GPA in the classroom.     Gabrielle "Gabby" Racey out of Indiana is a talented athlete who can do a little bit of everything between the white lines. Racey, who attends Terre Haute North High School and maintains a 3.8 GPA there, is a shortstop, catcher, and true utility player. A lefty slapper who throws right-handed, Racey plays club softball for Lady Dukes 2011 - Indiana 2029/30. The two-time USA All-American checks a lot of boxes with her impressive skill set.     Lily George out of Wisconsin brings advanced skills and versatility to the softball field. The second baseman, outfielder, and all-around utility player competes at the high school level for Muskego and on the travel ball circuit for Hustle Ramon 14U. She packs a punch with her bat, and can often be seen blasting extra-base hits at the plate. A National Junior Honor Society member, George has also been recognized as an All-American in softball and clearly has a bright future ahead of her in the game.
