Five 2031 Pitchers Who Keep Hitters Off Balance

Class of 2031 pitchers are already finding ways to stand out. The best young arms know how to mix speeds, hit spots, and keep batters guessing from the first pitch to the last. These pitchers have shown an advanced feel in the circle, using a combination of command, confidence, and deception to keep hitters off balance every time they take the ball.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five pitchers from the high school graduating class of 2031 who keep hitters off balance.    In South Carolina, 4A A.C. Flora represents one of the premier softball programs in the state. Carson Crook is poised to be one of the next names to rise through the ranks in the Columbia suburb of Forest Acres. During one weekend last month, she pitched in three games and posted an ERA around three, plus a WHIP of 1.31. At the beginning of the season, Crook suited up for A.C. Flora's junior varsity team and struck out seven batters in three innings. She did not allow a run and only surrendered one hit. Crook is a multi-sport athlete who has also played basketball along with her rising list of softball achievements.     Audri Simmons is poised to be a name to watch for a 1A Division 1 Banks County team that has been one of the winningest programs in Georgia over the last several years. With the Peach State being one of a few where softball is contested as a fall sport, Simmons has taken to the travel ranks recently. She recently wore the GA Threat 12U uniform late last month. She started two games and struck out a total of 17 between those two contests. One of those starts resulted in a three-inning perfect game in a 10-0 shutout of Southern Grit – Atkins 12U. Her primary club team is Georgia Impact Duffey 2013, for whom she pitched 11 innings while striking out 17 hitters and only allowing three walks at a recent invite in mid-March.     Need to win? Call Jacquelyn Schwinn. A rising name with Indiana Magic Gold 13U, Schwinn sees time on the left side of the infield at third base, in addition to what she gets accomplished in the circle. Last month, her team was on hand at the PGF Beverly Bandits Power 80 in Kentucky. One of her starts resulted in a perfect game, during which she struck out seven hitters in six innings as Indiana Magic Gold 2030 Regional Mader 13U prevailed by a final of 4-0 over Indiana Gators Lloyd/Pierini 14U. Schwinn would hurl 77 pitches in that matchup, with 57 of them going for strikes.     Mia Teller is a Tennessee prospect who spends her travel schedule playing for Atlanta Vipers 2031 Martinez. Recently, she was part of the PGF Georgia Spring Break Classic in Dalton. Her team finished as the runners-up in the 14U division, but she was at her peak in north Georgia's mountains. Teller spent 10.1 innings in the circle while recording 14 strikeouts and only allowing a pair of hits. The rising standout from Siegel MS will also operate defensively as a utility player as well. Her Cavaliers have been one of the state's most dominant middle school teams, as they have only allowed 33 runs all season. In a recent 16-0 run-rule victory over Rocky Fork MS, Teller struck out six and only allowed one walk in two innings.     More often than not, Lila Batman has typically spelled danger for an opposing team's bats. She recently also played volleyball in addition to softball, but has since shifted much of her focus towards the diamond. Track is another sport she excels in. Her team recently took part in the PGF Atlanta Vipers Invitational in Chattanooga, and she pitched 14 innings while striking out 23 batters with a WHIP of 1.186. This included a nine-strikeout performance in four innings in a 2-1 victory over EC Bullets Wilkerson 12U. At another PGF invite—the Bandits Power 80—she threw eight innings while striking out 12 as her team finished with a 6-0 mark and claimed the 12U Premier co-championship.
