It's the bottom of the seventh inning, there are two outs, your team is down by one run, and the bases are loaded. This is the type of moment that clutch players dream about having the chance to experience.

Having the ability to face a pressure-filled moment and come through in the clutch is one of the greatest attributes a softball player can have. The players on this list have the quality that allows them to come through for their teams in moments like these.

Below, Prep Softball highlights five talented 2030 prospects who shine in big moments for their teams on the softball field.

Coming through in big moments seems to be a habit for Kennedy Nickels. Representing Indiana, Floyds Knobs Community Club was locked in a scoreless battle with Japan at the Little League World Series, until Nickels stepped up to the plate. The Hoosier native ripped an outside pitch to right field for an RBI single, which proved to be the game-winner for her squad in a 1-0 victory. Then, last month at the Music City Sports Fly Ball Friendly, she made a heads up defensive play that sealed another win. After fielding a throw home, she fired a laser to third base to catch a runner trying to advance, giving the Athletics Mercado Gold 2030 Wicks team the tournament title. She is a determined and confident young player who believes she can get the big hit or make the big play for her team at all times. That is not a quality that can be taught.

Whether it's in the circle, at the plate, or in the outfield, Jillian Watson gives it her all. In her first pitching performance with the varsity team at Woodford County High School this month, she went five innings, faced 23 batters, and allowed only four earned runs and one walk. At the plate, she has a career batting average over .330 for the Yellowjackets, including last year as a 7th grader, and already has 21 career hits. For her travel ball team, she finished the fall ball season late last year with an outstanding performance in the final tournament. Over three games, she allowed four hits and one earned run, had a 1.05 ERA for the weekend, and helped lead her team to the tournament title. She also had a .300 batting average at the plate in that same tournament. She is an athlete who rises to the occasion and thrives in pressure-packed moments.

If you have to face Blake Aramburu in the circle, just know that she can rack up the strikeouts. At the Top Tier Winter Tournament in February, she faced nine batters in three innings and struck out eight of the nine to help her team win the title. At another tournament earlier in the winter, she compiled 14 strikeouts in only 5.1 innings pitched. With plenty of movement, a screwball that changes speed, a solid rise ball, a changeup, and a fastball, she has plenty of weapons to choose from while hurling the ball to her battery mate. As of earlier this year, she has reached 61.8 mph in velocity, which is difficult to hit no matter which pitch she's throwing. When she's not in the circle, you can find her at the hot corner. With her strong arm, she is a perfect fit there, and she can also handle sharp grounders as well as the slow dribblers that get hit her way.

With Madison Rathunde at the plate, her coaches hardly ever have to worry about her striking out. In her fall ball season for her Windy City squad, she struck out a grand total of two times in 124 at-bats. Perhaps even more impressive, she also recorded a staggering 72 hits and 68 RBIs. Every hitter wants to put the ball in play, but few are skilled enough to make contact with it that often. Rathunde has a good looking swing, and the ball simply jumps off her bat once she makes contact with it. Defensively, she plays a terrific third base, is not afraid to dive for balls, and puts in the work behind the plate as well. She is a player to watch as she continues to grow and develop her skills on the field.

One aspect of the game that coaches love to talk about is quality at-bats. When Emersen Johnson steps to the plate, that is something you can definitely count on. During fall ball last year for the Beverly Bandits, she had 46 quality at-bats out of 65. She also recorded 28 hits, a .431 batting average, and a .500 batting average in the final 12 games. She can hit the ball with authority to all fields and can pile up the extra-base hits without trying to do too much. Defensively, she has a strong arm, and was clocked earlier this year at 62 mph while throwing overhand. She holds herself to high standards both offensively and defensively and it certainly shows on the field.

It's the bottom of the seventh inning, there are two outs, your team is down by one run, and the bases are loaded. This is the type of moment that clutch players dream about having the chance to experience.
