Whether it's commanding the circle, anchoring the defense, or providing a spark at the plate, these young athletes are proving they belong on big stages. Their early production, poise under pressure, and overall feel for the game signal not only breakout seasons this spring, but also bright futures in the years to come.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five talented 2028 prospects who are ahead of the curve this high school softball season.    Kaylee Foster has quietly developed into one of the most productive bats in the Sacramento area, pairing consistency at the plate with a strong academic résumé. A standout at Christian Brothers High School, Foster continues to trend upward as a key contributor for her team. During the 2025 season, Foster posted a .329 batting average with a .342 on-base percentage and .486 slugging percentage, finishing with a .828 OPS. She led Christian Brothers in hits (23), RBIs (19), home runs (2), and stolen bases (7), showcasing her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Her offensive production built off a solid 2024 Fall LTG campaign in which she hit .323 with 20 hits and 18 RBIs, proving she can deliver in both high school and travel ball settings. Foster also competes for LTG Carda/Pettis 16U, continuing to sharpen her skills against elite competition. A 2025 CVC Scholar Student-Athlete, she balances athletic success with academic excellence.     Maysinn Jones is an emerging two-way talent in the 2028 class who continues to make her mark in the Pacific Northwest. A right-handed pitcher and corner infielder, Jones competes for NW Bullets Qualls/Nicholson 18U, consistently facing high-level competition. At Aberdeen High School, Jones was part of the 2025 2A state championship team, contributing to a program that proved itself among the best in Washington. Competing and winning on that stage has helped shape her competitive edge and team-first mentality. In the circle, Jones brings command and composure, while at the corners she provides steady defense and offensive potential. Off the field, she maintains a strong 3.85 GPA, demonstrating the discipline and work ethic that translate directly to her athletic development.     Isabella “Bella” Goding is a 2028 right-handed pitcher at Liberty Christian Academy who brings confidence, command, and competitive fire to the circle. A primary RHP, Goding thrives on keeping hitters off balance, confidently mixing her riseball, changeup, and curveball in any count. Her ability to trust her movement pitches in big moments speaks to both her poise and advanced feel for pitching. Goding competes on the travel circuit with Starz Gold National Bunn 16U, with whom she continues to sharpen her arsenal against strong competition. Off the field, Goding's discipline shines just as brightly. She carries a 4.25 GPA, earning highest honors throughout elementary, middle, and high school to date. A member of the Senior Beta Club, she embodies the definition of a student-athlete—balancing academic excellence with athletic ambition.     Ma'Khari Jones is a dynamic 2028 outfielder and utility player from South Carolina whose speed and versatility make her a constant difference-maker. A true utility athlete, Jones has the ability to impact the game in multiple roles, whether she's tracking down balls in the outfield or stepping into different defensive spots when her team needs her most. Known for her quickness, Jones is a disruptive presence on the bases and a two-way bunter who can execute small-ball situations with precision. Her speed forces defenses to rush, creating opportunities for her team to manufacture runs and shift momentum. Jones is already a state champion and a Top Gun champion, proving she knows how to win on big stages. Off the field, she maintains a 3.9 GPA and is a proud member of the Beta Club, demonstrating the same commitment to excellence in the classroom as she does between the lines.     Cassidy Cavazos is a versatile 2028 catcher/utility player who brings toughness, leadership skills, and consistency to the field. A right-handed standout, Cavazos competes at the varsity level for DeKalb High School, where she continues to develop as a reliable presence behind the plate and across the infield. Defensively, Cavazos anchors the game from the catcher position with strong communication skills and a steady glove, while her ability to slide into multiple infield roles highlights her versatility and team-first mindset.
