In the state of Maryland, or anywhere in the Northeast region right now, if you take a look outside, you're going to see the same grey cloudy skies. No variety, no versatility. However, if you take a look at these 2029 athletes from Maryland, you will get just that.

With speed, power, great instincts, and hard work, these 2029 prospects are the stars who will soon become household names in the softball world, and one day shine on the biggest stages.

Below, Prep Softball gives insight into some of the top 2029 prospects to watch in Maryland.

Ivy Jones is a dual-sport athlete who is very talented at both softball and volleyball. With elite speed and arm strength, she makes the ultimate competitor. From the right side of the plate, she is consistent in hitting line drives in the gap and utilizing her speed. In the infield, she is a force to be reckoned with. Not only does she have the natural ability to throw on the run and cover almost the entire left side of the field, but she also has arm strength that is second to none. Ivy recently had an assist from third to first clocked at 2.47 seconds, which is faster than most Division I players running from home to first. Ivy Jones is a must-watch player for now and years to come.

If you watch one swing she takes, you'll quickly realize the capability Callie Neal has. With her small movements and quick hands, she is a difficult out for any pitcher she faces. Last summer, she put up some impressive numbers, batting .588 with 30 hits and 8 triples. Not only does she have power, but she also has a ton of speed. She clocked a 2.8-second 20-yard sprint, which pairs well with her power. This early in her recruiting game, it is no secret that she will be a name to remember for years to come.

When it comes to versatility, [player_tooltip player_id='151526' first='Maggie' last='Slaght'] has all the tools in her belt. From the left side of the plate, she makes hitting look effortless, getting extended on pitches anywhere in the zone. Not only can she go yard, but she can also lay down a bunt for a hit. She recently played in the USA Softball HPP National Selection event, and finished the weekend with a .444 batting average. In her fall season, she posted a .492 batting average with a .551 OBP. Not only that, but she also had four home runs, proving her power.

Natural speed and athleticism are the names of the game for [player_tooltip player_id='152577' first='Noelle' last='Banks']. The lefty slapper ended the 2025 fall season posting a batting average of .400 with 26 hits, 20 stolen bases, and 14 RBIs. She also competed in the USA Softball 14U All-American Games for Region 2, taking home a silver medal by placing second out of 23 teams. Noelle is second to none when it comes to work ethic. And whether it be on the field, basketball court, or in the gym, she is destined for high achievement.

[player_tooltip player_id='148151' first='Alex' last='Owen'] is a skilled player mechanically, but it would be a disservice to her not to highlight her elite level of field awareness and high softball IQ. Whether it's at shortstop, in the outfield, or on the bases, Alex is always thinking one step ahead. As a right-handed hitter, she excels at hitting the ball far, but she can also leg out a bunt for a hit from the right side. Not only does she run high school track, but another cool thing she also did was compete in the MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run program held at Camden Yards. There, she took home the championship for her age group and put up some impressive numbers. Be on the lookout for Alex to cause chaos on the bases and in the box this spring.
