This fall, the Tahlequah Tigers tallied up the most wins for the program in over 10 years with freshman Lilly Garcia leading the way offensively. The talented (and not to mention fleet-footed) infielder led the team in batting average (.438), on-base percentage (.490), stolen bases (42), runs (54), hits (57), slugging percentage (.654), and triples (5). She also ranked first among all freshmen in the state of Oklahoma in batting average, runs, and stolen bases. Don't count her out defensively, either. Garcia totaled 44 putouts for the season, along with 30 assists, two double plays, and only two errors. She was named the All-District Defensive Player of the Year following the season's end, and is determined to propel the Tigers to a state title in her sophomore season.

Just as vital to the success of the Tahlequah Tigers this fall were the contributions of freshman Rylee Stark. The multi-sport athlete put the ball in play often to the tune of a .395 batting average and a .442 on-base percentage, while only striking out four times for the season. Additionally, she drove in 23 runs, collected 34 hits, and sprinted her way to 16 stolen bases. In fact, Stark and her teammate Garcia combined for over 50% of the team's swiped bags for the season. Defensively, in the infield, she also had a strong year, with 26 putouts, 31 assists, and a .919 fielding percentage. Next summer, she will be competing with her Bombers squad in the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series. With her skill and potential, she is well worth a watch.

Over the past three seasons, the Chandler Lions have amassed over 90 wins and have scored over 250 runs as a team for three straight campaigns. This fall, freshman Halle Herrmann fit right in with the powerhouse club with some eye-popping numbers of her own. The Sooner State product hit .347 for the season, including 39 RBIs, 34 hits, 27 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, four doubles, and three triples. She led the team in RBIs and triples, and finished tied for first in home runs. She also did not go down swinging often, totaling only five strikeouts for the season. With the glove, she had 11 putouts, 27 assists, and turned one double play. The best news for the Lions is that she's only going to get better, both offensively and defensively.

Kylee Garrett was not only one of the best freshman hurlers in Oklahoma this fall, but she was also one of the best hurlers in the state in all classes. The righthander led all freshmen in the state in wins with 13, and finished in the top 10 among all classes. Over her 25 appearances, she had an impressive 2.91 ERA, along with 74 strikeouts, only one home run allowed, and an opponent batting average of .235. Garrett also delivered at the plate for her team in a big way with some serious pop in her bat. She racked up 13 extra-base hits in her freshman campaign, including 10 doubles, two home runs, and 24 RBIs. You would be hard-pressed to find any area she struggled in, as she also fielded her position well with 12 putouts, 25 assists, and two double plays.

Mylee Jensen had a superb freshman year for the Pawhuska Huskies, both in the circle and at the plate. The righthander finished ranked first in ERA (1.14) statewide among all freshmen, and placed in the top 10 among all classes. She delivered 10 wins for the Huskies, leading her team in that department, and struck out 69 batters, while holding opponents to a .220 batting average. When the time came for her to bring it for her team in the postseason, she succeeded at that as well, picking up two wins for her squad. With the bat, she was no less impressive, completing her freshman campaign with a .333 batting average, 29 hits, 22 RBIs, and five doubles. Defensively, she turned a remarkable seven double plays, and also had 90 putouts and 13 assists. It will be exciting to watch what is in store for her during her sophomore campaign.
