The powerful freshman hit three bombs for the Stratford Academy Eagles against their in-state foe earlier this month. She had seven RBIs total for the game, and is up to 19 RBIs on the season in just nine games, as of this writing. News about her power seems to be spreading, as she has also drawn eight walks, compared to just three strikeouts. Her terrific numbers are not too surprising if you take into account the fact that she broke the Stratford school record for shot put as an 8th grader. Six games later, she had an even better day, going 5-for-5 at the plate, including two more home runs, another double, and nine RBIs against the Pueblo South Colts. In total, as of this writing, she holds a .519 batting average with 22 RBIs, 14 hits, five doubles, and four home runs. She is currently tied for first among all freshmen nationwide in RBIs, and is tied for second in home runs. Along with a solid on-base percentage of .500, she also rarely strikes out, only having two so far this season. The Griffins have a 5-1 record to start the season, as of this writing, and freshman catcher Averi Bachman has played a starring role for her squad so far this season. Bachman has hit safely in five of the first six games of the campaign, and five of her eight hits have been of the extra-base variety, including two home runs and two doubles. She currently leads the team in RBIs (9), and slugging percentage (1.059). With her glove, she has been solid behind the plate with 35 putouts, and has helped guide her team's pitching staff to a solid 2.10 ERA. The Georgia product appears in the top three in nearly every offensive category for the Panthers. As of this writing, she has a .464 batting average, 13 hits, 11 RBIs, four doubles, and three home runs. In addition to the pop in her bat, she has only struck out once in 28 at-bats and has an impressive on-base percentage of .500. Similar to Bachman, she contributes to her team in every part of the game, as she has already turned three double plays in the field and has five assists. In a span of four games early this season, Hattig had 10 hits and five RBIs. As a whole, the Cougars outscored their opponents by an astounding 67 runs during that time. The freshman is raking with a .619 batting average, 13 hits, 11 runs scored, two doubles and two triples, as of this writing. She also has an on-base percentage of .636, a slugging percentage of .905, and only struck out once in 21 at-bats.
