Five Hitters Who Never Gave Pitchers A Break This Summer

The hitters who never stop pressuring defenses are the ones who keep opposing teams and pitchers up at night. Whether they are middle-of-the-order bats or slappers at the tops of lineups who always seem to get on base, these players created havoc on fields across the country this summer.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five of the top hitters in the country who never gave pitchers a break during the summer ball season this year.    Shannon Bratton could be on a similar list like this for pitchers who never gave batters a break. She's a dynamic two-way player who has turned into an ace pitcher with a power-hitting bat in the middle of the order for her Vanquish squad. Despite playing two years up this year, Shannon batted .429 through showcases across the country. Between the Pennsbury Invitational, TNT Summer Showcase and East Coast Showdown, Shannon faced future college pitchers weekly and continued to improve as the weeks of the summer went on. She's well on her way to being a can't-miss two-way prospect in the class of 2028.     Analiese Holmes had an incredible year, knocking down accolades left and right that thrust her into the conversation of being one of the best athletes in the class of 2029. Despite just now entering into her freshman year in high school, Analiese is a USA Softball HPP Top Performer and USA Softball All American. Her Impact Gold team consistently finished in the top 10 at tournaments around the Midwest this summer, and Analiese was a massive influence on that success with her incredible bat at the top of the order.     Mackenzie Sease was all over the country this summer, taking on some of the best softball talent across the United States. Much like her other counterparts on this list, Mackenzie is a tremendous dual-threat player who has also seen incredible growth in the pitching circle. But as a power-hitting bat in the middle of the LLG Futures' lineup, Mackenzie struck fear in the eyes of opposing pitchers all summer long. Her home-run hitting capabilities, coupled with a batting average that lives near .600, are massive reasons why she has already seen interest from college coaches.     There's a strong argument to be made that Devaeh Crawford is the best center fielder in the class of 2029, or even in the entire underclassmen landscape. As an eighth grader, she was playing for OC Batbusters 18U in the TCS SoCal Brashear Summer Invitational, along with four other tournaments across the country. And she wasn't just there for the flight points. In the TCS SoCal Brashear Summer Invitational, she batted .571 and won IDT on a walk-off hit. She's incredibly dedicated to her craft and improving each day, and has seen major interest from programs including Florida, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Florida State.     Amiyah Currie took her game global this summer. She was a part of the U15 WBSC World Cup in Italy, where she helped the United States win a bronze medal. That accomplishment was her cherry on top of an incredibly busy and successful summer across the country, in which she dominated at high-level tournaments week in and week out. Amiyah is a dynamic athlete who combines power with a unique plate discipline that has already earned her interest from countless college programs.
