Malie Satete has already played two full seasons of varsity softball, finishing with a 1.40 ERA, 190 strikeouts and just 21 walks in 130 innings pitched this spring. But she has earned most of her attention with what she has accomplished at the plate. Satete hit 25 home runs as an eighth grader, setting a New Mexico high school single-season record, then followed it up with 22 more as a freshman. She has a .738/.804/1.863 triple slash in 57 games across two years with just seven strikeouts. Satete also stole 33 bases this year, proving there is truly nothing she cannot do on a softball field. She has attended camps at Arizona State, Texas, UCLA and Texas Tech, among others.

Emma Johnson had an outstanding freshman season at a Northern California powerhouse program, slashing .436/.552/.897 with 13 doubles, seven homers and 33 runs scored in 29 games. She walked three times as often as she struck out and was also excellent in the field, contributing to eight double plays. Her quick, full swing generates immense power, and her strong, accurate arm behind the plate can bring the running game to a complete stop. She can also pop out of her crouch to pounce on bunts and little dribblers in front of the plate, and is adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Johnson has been to camps at Oklahoma State, Oregon and UCLA, and is sure to see her stock continue to rise as she heads into her sophomore year.

Paityn Powell made a name for herself as a freshman with a .431 average and 1.325 OPS, hitting eight doubles and six home runs and scoring 26 runs in 22 games. She hits for both contact and power to all parts of the field, and defensively, she is comfortable at first base, third base or in the outfield. Powell performs well in the classroom as well, with a 3.6 GPA. She had a stretch of four straight multi-hit games in late March and early April, including back-to-back games with five RBI. Her strikeout rate is on the high side, but she has plenty of time to improve her pitch recognition and plate discipline as she continues her development.

Siena Adams hit .523 with a .611 on-base percentage during an incomplete freshman season that saw her miss nearly a month with a hamstring injury. She showed no ill effects upon her return, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and five RBI in her second game back in late May to help her team reach the district championship game. A left-handed batter, Adams mostly hits away and has extra-base power on line drives in the gaps, and she also has the alertness to take an additional base when the defense mishandles the ball. Even when she is not quite at full strength, Adams still has the speed and instincts to steal bases. Primarily a shortstop, she is good at tracking down pop flies along the left-field line and ranging to her backhand side to field grounders in the hole.

Makenzie Thomas' batting average was dragged down somewhat by a high strikeout rate, but she more than made up for it with her power. She hit 15 home runs and had both 44 runs scored and 44 RBI in 34 games, good for a .915 slugging percentage. A member of the USA U-15 national team, Thomas will take her talents to the global stage for the WBSC U-15 World Cup in Italy later this summer. There are few pitches Thomas is not capable of hitting out of the park, and even a ball just off the plate can have the center fielder not even bothering to run back toward the fence for it. Her range and feel for the game in the field are also impressive. Thomas' ceiling seems limitless as she heads into her sophomore year.

In 2023, Delanie Cloyd was named to the USA Softball U-13 High Performance Program, and she has not slowed down since. She finished her first high school season with a .667/.740/1.615 triple slash in 25 games and hit 14 homers, 14 doubles and nine triples, while also posting 57 runs scored and 48 RBI. Cloyd also walked 20 times with just four strikeouts and stole 16 bases to boot, scoring at least one run in each of her first 18 games. She is a high achiever in the classroom and a versatile defender with the ability to play third base, shortstop and catcher. Cloyd faces high-level competition in both high school and club softball, and will undoubtedly see a lot of interest from college coaches in the coming years.

Arden Vines lives just one town over from Cloyd, her travel ball teammate, and like Cloyd, she raked against high school pitching as a freshman this spring. She batted .541 in 31 games with 15 doubles, five triples, eight home runs and twice as many walks as strikeouts for a 1.648 OPS. Vines was also 32-for-35 on stolen base attempts, and although she pitched sparingly, she did throw a five-inning no-hitter with 14 strikeouts against one of the weakest opponents on her team's schedule. She can reach rise balls above the zone and drive them for extra bases, and when she gets a mistake over the middle of the plate, she can hit laser beams that carry over the wall. Vines is up to a 71-mph maximum exit velocity, and her overhand throws have been clocked nearly as fast.

From a small town on the border of Ohio and West Virginia, Aedre Ault did a little of everything in her first high school campaign, slashing .648/.755/1.225 with 12 doubles, seven triples, five homers, 60 runs scored, 27 walks and just four strikeouts in 25 games. She also stole 28 bases and ended the season on a 15-game hitting streak, 11 of which were multi-hit performances. Ault sprays the ball to all fields and swings away most of the time, but can also slap and bunt for hits. She has gone to camps at Louisville and Ohio State, and other strong programs like Oregon have sent her mail. More will surely arrive as her game keeps developing.

Colorado is one of a handful of states to play high school softball in the fall, and Kayleigh Garcia took her league by storm as a freshman, batting .471 with a 1.082 slugging percentage, 12 home runs, five triples, 21 stolen bases, 46 runs scored and 41 RBI in 27 games. She was a first-team all-conference and second-team all-state honoree, and even when she hits the ball off the end of her bat, it can still carry to the wall for extra bases. Garcia has prolific pull-side and opposite-field power and plays standout defense in center field and right field. She has attended camps at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, and is also a star sprinter on the track and field team, setting her school's freshman record in the 100-meter dash.
