Here are several athletes from the class of 2027 on the West Coast that you'll want to watch this summer.    Kamea Torres is a middle infielder from Franklin High School in Sacramento, California. She is known for her grit, versatility, and heart on the field. Recently, Torres received the Girls in Softball Sponsorship Award from the Lady Legendz. On the field, she demonstrates her versatility and ability to excel at various infield positions, showcasing her leadership skills and smooth glove work. Torres excels at the plate, showcasing both power and consistency. She drives in runs and continuously contributes to her team's success, leading by example. Kamea Torres exemplifies the ideal student-athlete, seamlessly balancing her passions for sports and academics. With an impressive GPA of 3.8, she demonstrates remarkable focus and dedication in her studies. On the field, her elite skill set sets her apart, while her commitment to excellence in the classroom showcases her determination and hard work. Kamea is not just a star athlete, but she is also a well-rounded individual who thrives in every aspect of her life.      Sophia Bloyd is a middle infielder from Scappoose High School in Oregon and a proud member of the NW Vandals Larson 16U team. She has been a remarkable asset this season for Oregon's fourth-ranked 4A team. A dynamic right-handed hitter, she has shown power to all fields, recording 32 hits in just 61 plate appearances. She has 13 extra-base hits, ranking her among the top 10 in the state for batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and runs scored. Defensively, Bloyd excels at shortstop, showcasing her strong arm and reliable glove. She also offers versatility by playing behind the plate and in various positions on the field. A two-time Maddi Higgins All-Star and 2024 TCF Sparkler All-American, she was also a Second-Team All-State player in her freshman year. Beyond her athletic achievements, Bloyd is academically talented as well, maintaining a GPA of 3.94. Sophia Bloyd exemplifies what it means to be an elite student-athlete.     Addison Anderson is a standout right-handed pitcher for the Washington Ladyhawks Fairbairn 16U team and Stanwood High School. She excels both in the circle and at the plate, as demonstrated during her high school season. This year, Anderson pitched 75 innings, achieving an impressive 123 strikeouts while maintaining a 1.31 ERA. Her performance led her team to a district championship, highlighted by a remarkable 10-inning complete game against the top-ranked team. At the plate, Anderson is equally formidable, with a batting average of .434, along with seven home runs and 26 RBIs. Addison Anderson's strong work ethic and determination to improve daily make her stand out. She is ready to carry her high school successes into the summer season.     Isabella Martinez, a right-handed pitcher from San Dimas High School, has proven to be a dedicated student-athlete on the field and in the classroom. She is a true workhorse on the field. She ranked among the top three pitchers in her league for wins and had six Player of the Game honors this season. Renowned for her off-speed pitch and stamina, she consistently gave her team a strong chance to win this year. Offensively, she also contributed at the plate, ending the high school season with a batting average of .303. Martinez is a player who is willing to get it done on both sides of the game, and she puts 100% into everything she does. Isabella Martinez's combination of grit, control, and dominance makes her one of the most dependable pitchers in her class.     Sara Halterman is an exceptional catcher from North Thurston High School who truly exemplifies what it means to be a competitive athlete. With quick reflexes, strong instincts, and a powerful arm, she is a formidable presence behind the plate. Her leadership is just as remarkable as her skills, as she effectively commands the game. At the plate, she shows impressive power and confidence, consistently delivering in crucial moments. She finished the high school season with a batting average of .516, 32 RBIs, and eight home runs. Beyond her athletic abilities, Halterman maintains a 3.9 GPA, showcasing her academic discipline and focus as a student. Sara Halterman combines elite athletic and academic abilities, making her a true leader both on and off the field.     Emeline Curaming is a right-handed pitcher for the NW Vandals Larson 16U team and St. Helens High School. St. Helens High School currently holds the No. 2 ranking in Oregon's 4A classification. Curaming has an impressive record of 8-0, a 1.29 ERA, 99 strikeouts, and 87 innings pitched. She skillfully commands the strike zone with all of her pitches, keeping batters guessing and off balance. In addition to her pitching, Curaming provides significant value at the plate with her left-handed swing, showcasing gap-to-gap power and the ability to apply pressure on defenses with her quick play. Emeline Curaming is a versatile defender and a high-energy competitor who makes significant contributions on the field. Her leadership, along with her elite skills both in the circle and at the plate, showcases her dedication as a student-athlete. She is definitely someone to keep an eye on this summer.
