Five California 2028s Ready To Break Out This Summer

California's 2028 class is packed with exceptional talent, and this summer, five standout athletes are ready to make a significant impact on the field. These rising stars have been turning heads with their work ethic, outstanding athleticism, and consistently impressive performances on the field.   As the competition heats up this summer, expect these athletes to do what they do best: compete.    Madison Del Castillo is a standout freshman starter on the varsity softball team at American Canyon High School. She is also a dedicated student in the classroom. Del Castillo, a left-handed player, excels at the plate with her ability to hit for power, execute slaps, or drop down a bunt, using her speed to beat out throws. In the outfield, she is a game-changer, known for her ability to track down fly balls and make clutch plays. In high school, she had a .326 batting average, scored 20 runs, recorded 11 RBIs, and stole 10 bases. Madison Del Castillo clearly demonstrates her skills as a player and looks to continue excelling this summer season.     Samantha Snell is an exceptional shortstop at Rocklin High School, where she effectively balances her athletic performance with academic responsibilities, maintaining a GPA of 3.9. As a freshman, she started on a varsity team ranked 10th in California by MaxPreps. Snell demonstrates leadership, athleticism, and versatility on the field, achieving an impressive .920 fielding percentage. Offensively, she delivers with both power and consistency. She is also a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball to further showcase her versatility. For her travel ball team, the Corona Angels Snobar/Atlee, Snell sets the tone at the top of the lineup and leads defensively, solidifying her reputation as a well-rounded, high-impact player. Samantha Snell's leadership, hard work, and passion will shine this summer.     Briana Bowers is a dynamic outfielder who contributes athleticism and leadership to every game. She attends Agronaut High School, where she has excelled as a student-athlete. Known for her exceptional ball-tracking skills, she effortlessly covers ground and supports her efforts with a strong arm. Offensively, she's a powerful right-handed hitter with impressive speed, making her a threat in every part of the lineup. In 26 high school games, Bowers had a batting average of .430, a slugging percentage of .756, and an on-base percentage of .479, with 37 hits, 4 home runs, 6 triples, and 20 stolen bases. Her outstanding performance did not go unnoticed: she earned 1st team honors. Briana Bowers is ready to continue to showcase her skills and passion this summer season.     Brett Lambrecht delivers as a formidable left-handed hitter and dominates the field for both the Bandits and Chino Hills High School. As a freshman, she led her team with a .500 batting average, a .569 on-base percentage, 37 hits, 28 RBIs, and 9 doubles, ranking in the top three for each category in her league. In the pitcher's circle, Lambrecht impressively uses her heat and movement, employing strong east-to-west action to keep hitters off balance. When she's not pitching, you may find her at first base or in the outfield, showcasing her versatility and athleticism. Playing first base for the Chino Hills team, she recorded a .975 fielding percentage, showcasing her skill and reliability. Lambrecht is a dedicated student in the classroom, showcasing her ability to stay focused and engaged. Brett Lambrecht aims to carry her high school success into the summer season.     Jaiden Proctor is an outstanding student-athlete from Freedom High School and her Extreme 14U-Woofter travel team, excelling as a first baseman and designated hitter. Known for her explosive power at the plate, Proctor has hit home runs over 260 feet, making her one of the most formidable hitters in her class. Her statistics are impressive from the fall, boasting a batting average of .477, with 41 hits and 41 RBIs. Proctor is a power hitter with elite speed, making her one of the fastest on her team. At first base, she showcases smooth glove work, can scoop up balls in the dirt, and displays vocal leadership. Jaiden Proctor plans to showcase her skills this summer, and multiple Division I programs already show strong interest in her. Jaiden has secured a place in the USA High Performance Program (HPP) for two years in a row and is set to build on her achievements this summer after a strong fall and excellent high school performances.
