Top 2028 Prospects To Watch In Delaware

Spring has officially sprung, and that means high schools across the country—and in Delaware, in particular—are in the thick of their softball seasons right now.   Below, Prep Softball highlights five of the top prospects from Delaware in the high school graduating class of 2028.    Adeline Lutz is an immensely talented softball player who has already seen tremendous success at some of the highest levels of travel ball. She's the leadoff hitter for Sussex Central and for her 16U travel team, all while taking care of business at shortstop. That trust alone that two different teams places in a freshman shows just how much potential Adeline's career has. This year alone, she's batting .421 with an on-base percentage of .542 on one of the best high school teams in the state. She's graded out incredibly well with lightning fast speed on the base paths and an exit velocity in the mid-60s. Adeline is certain to be on many college coaches' radars by the end of this spring.     Ava Perrucci is yet another example of a freshman with tremendous travel ball experience who took the reigns of her high school team early and didn't look back. Thus far this season, at the time of this writing, she's batting a clean .600 with 14 RBI and 16 runs scored from the three hole for Appoquinimink High School, while also holding down left field. She's already drawn interest from some Division I programs, and is sure to continue to see that interest accumulate. Once Ava is done at the plate, typically with a multi-hit day, she serves as her team's closer and has an eye-popping 10:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. A multi-sport athlete who excels every time she steps on the field, Ava is well on her way to stardom during her high school playing career and beyond.     [player_tooltip player_id='99837' first='Timora' last='Hall'] is a teammate of Adeline Lutz, and with those two freshmen dominating the Sussex Central team already, it's clear why the program has been so successful in the early going of the season this year. Timora is a prolific starting pitcher, possessing an arsenal that many upperclassmen haven't even developed yet. Last year with her eighth grade team, she helped the squad go 11-0 and tossed six no-hitters. So far this year, she's thrown three shutouts for Sussex Central. Timora has been around the country at multiple tournaments and showcases, catapulting her impact beyond the Northeast region. She has a plus fastball with tremendous offspeed pitches that will continue to improve for her with age and the addition of strength.     Jordynn Bowe is a two-sport athlete who is likely going to have to decide between playing softball or basketball at the next level, which is a great position to be in as a freshman. She's already broken into the lineup at Cape Henlopen this year and made an immediate impact. Through 10 games at the time of this writing, she's batting .394 with 13 RBI, three doubles, a triple and a home run, showcasing her ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field. While she's a contact-first batter, she hardly strikes out (six times in 38 plate appearances), which is a great sign for a young hitter like her. So far, she has also played perfect defense at both first and third base. Jordynn's time at the varsity level is off to a hot start, and she is certainly set up well for a decorated high school career.     Cierra Lewis recently earned a spot on the Empire State Huskies 16U team and will be off to the National Power Pool in Colorado over July 4th weekend. It's just another early feather in the cap of a budding young star like Lewis, who has shown an incredible level of talent already. Cierra has attended a handful of camps at Division I schools already, like Hofstra, and has worked out in front of some of the top colleges in the country. She consistently dominates at showcases and tournaments with a poised bat and one of the strongest fastballs in Delaware. Cierra is dominating two age levels above her right now, and will surely continue to blossom as a top prospect in her class from Delaware.
