Top 2027 Prospects To Watch In Wyoming

The Equality State may have only 587,618 residents, but it has plenty of softball talent to go around. A number of class of 2027 players contributed to their teams both in the circle and at the plate last spring, and enter their sophomore campaigns ready for more.   Below, Prep Softball highlights some of the top prospects from Wyoming in the high school graduating class of 2027.    In her first season donning a Tigers uniform for Rock Springs High School, Tarin Anderson ranked in the top 10 statewide in nearly every offensive category. The sophomore catcher compiled a .591 batting average last spring with 39 hits, 36 RBIs, 15 doubles, six home runs, and an on-base percentage of .655. She also led the Tigers in fielding percentage, slugging percentage, and finished tied for first place in triples. Behind the plate, she has a quick pop time and is a dedicated worker at framing and blocking. Earning All-State honors her freshman season is a sign of things to come for this talented player.     Landri Vaughn brought her talent to the circle and the plate for the Wheatland Bulldogs last spring. The righthander led all freshmen statewide in strikeouts with 33 and only surrendered two home runs all season. At the plate, she hit for a .300 batting average and racked up 21 hits and one home run, while driving in 18 runs. She fields her position in the circle well and can also hold down the hot corner. She has great movement and spin on her rise and can paint the corners with her drop ball. With her sophomore season set to begin, there's a lot to like about Vaughn's game.     Kate Gallinger is another player from the Equality State who can contribute to a team both in the circle and with her bat. Last season, she ranked second among all freshmen statewide with 17 strikeouts and picked up two wins in the circle, including one complete-game victory for the Worland Warriors. At the plate, she was among the team leaders with a .286 batting average and 10 hits, including one home run and seven RBIs. She didn't commit any errors all season and was adept at keeping the ball in the ballpark. She is a valuable teammate to have and will look to continue to have success on the field this spring for Worland.     Ayden Coates nearly had an identical season at the plate this past spring as her teammate Landri Vaughn, accumulating a .299 batting average with 20 hits, 12 RBIs and one home run. She also picked up four stolen bases, and tossed 11 innings in the circle, picking up seven strikeouts. She led the Wheatland Bulldogs in holding opponents to a .198 batting average, and only surrendered one home run her entire freshman campaign. With the duo of Vaughn and Coates set to be in the circle once again this spring, the Wheatland Bulldogs will certainly be a team to watch.     A member of one of the most dominant teams in the state, Madi Cone made her mark during her freshman season for the Campbell County Camels. In her eight appearances in the circle, Cone compiled a 1-0 record with a solid 3.64 ERA, good for second overall on the team. Over her 15 innings pitched, she allowed just two walks, throwing strikes 68% of the time. The southpaw helped the Camels to a 21-10 record and a third-place finish at the state championships. Having the ability to throw strikes consistently is a quality of Cone's that will undoubtedly serve her well this season and beyond.
