One of the top sophomores in the state, Honey Mirabal's offensive stats from her freshman season are so otherworldly you may not even believe them. The slugger finished last spring with a .634 batting average, 52 hits, 46 RBIs, 16 doubles, five triples, and seven home runs. She was in the top three among all New Mexico freshmen in every offensive category. She has serious pop to all fields and her home runs tend to end up in parking lots. Don't count on striking her out either, as she had only eight strikeouts all of last season. She is any pitcher's worst nightmare.

Similar to Mirabal, Shanoah Eddie's offensive statistics from her freshman season are also almost impossible to believe. Hailing from the western part of the state, the sophomore hit for a .768 batting average her freshman season, with 43 hits, 47 RBIs, 12 doubles, eight triples, and nine home runs. Her first home run for the Rehoboth Christian Lynx was fittingly a grand slam. She finished third in slugging percentage and fourth in batting average among all high school players in New Mexico. The Lynx's overall record of 24-4 was their best win total in over 10 years. There's some excitement brewing in Rehoboth, and Eddie is a big reason why.

Leah Gutierrez brought talent to both the circle and the batter's box for her freshman season at Santa Fe High School. The righthander finished first in strikeouts among all New Mexico freshmen with 100, racked up seven wins, and had a solid 4.48 ERA. At the plate, she was perhaps even more impressive, hitting for a .544 batting average with 37 hits, 32 RBIs, seven doubles, four triples, and three home runs. She also led her team, the Santa Fe Demons, with 11 stolen bases and a whopping on-base percentage of .617. A multi-sport athlete, it's hard to find anything that Gutierrez can't do well.

Playing only five minutes away from her travel ball teammate Leah Gutierrez, Jaslene Ramirez also had an explosive freshman season. Starting for the St. Michael's Horsemen, Gutierrez finished last spring with a .475 batting average, along with 35 runs scored, 29 hits, and 14 doubles. She also was a speedster on the base paths, stealing 17 bags. Defense is also an area in which she shines. Handling the hot corner, she is quick on her feet, has a strong arm, and can gobble up short hops with ease. She is an athlete who focuses on all facets of the game and will be an exciting talent to continue to watch.

Joining her NM Choice teammates Ramirez and Gutierrez on this premier list, Aubri Hooee wasted no time getting her career as a St. Pius X Spartan off to a hot start. In 74 plate appearances last spring, Hooee piled up 30 hits, 32 RBIs and nine doubles, good for a .462 batting average. She played an integral part for a St. Pius X squad that made it to the New Mexico state softball championships for 4A. She has the ability to hit a rocket through the infield or a line drive into the gap. At third base, she has impressive range defensively and is able to dive for hot shots you thought were headed for left field. Like her travel ball teammates, Hooee is built for success in softball.
