Her arsenal of pitches includes a rise ball, drop ball, changeup, and a speedy fastball at 66 mph. She used these skills to throw a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts against Cary Academy last high school season. Her season stats included a 2.26 ERA, 99 innings pitched, and 162 strikeouts. She is constantly working to get faster and stronger, and can be found in the weight room often. Morgan helped her team to a 2022 4A state championship in 2022. In 2023, she was awarded First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-State honors, and was also named to the NCSAA Super Regional Team. Her high school hitting stats include a .477 batting average, a .493 on-base percentage, 2 bombs, and a .876 slugging percentage. In the circle, she is a strikeout queen dominating with 102 strikeouts in only 64 innings pitched. Her elite performance earned her a spot on the 2024 All-State Team. She also racked up several Player of the Game recognitions. She has hit several shots over the fence recently at college camps. Lyla is a multi-sport athlete and is presently playing varsity for her East Lincoln High School team. In her freshman year, she was named Outstanding Co-Freshman of the Year. In 2023, she helped her team win a 3A state championship. She helped her Weddington team to a 4A West Regional Championship this past season.
