McCoy is becoming a star in her own right, bursting onto the scene as a high school freshman with a 1.25 ERA and 215 strikeouts in 19 appearances. Her sophomore year was nearly as good, with a 1.62 ERA and 186 strikeouts in 107 2/3 innings as King Philip, in southeastern Massachusetts, reached the division championship game. Walsh is 31-5 through two high school seasons, and was an all-scholastic selection this past spring by both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald.

Raucci, out of Connecticut, is coming off a monster sophomore high school season. Raucci hit safely in her team's first 13 games, with four three-hit outings in that stretch. In a 20-0 demolition of Ansonia, she was 3-for-3 with a triple, a homer and five RBI. Raucci earned second-team all-state honors from CT Insider. Using her spin and pinpoint precision, Vigneau had a 1.06 WHIP and also fielded her position well, making just one error. A heavy workload began to catch up to Vigneau late in the season, but her team still finished a perfect 25-0 and won the Rhode Island Division I state championship. Lamontagne was 7-for-8 with four doubles over her first three games of the season and helped Cheverus finish 20-1 with a Class A state championship. She had all 24 of her team's pitching decisions, tossing 151 innings with a 2.32 ERA with an even one strikeout per inning against just 47 walks, while holding opposing hitters to a .213 batting average. Danubio threw six complete-game, seven-inning shutouts, including a pair of one-hitters. At the plate, she batted .425 with a .511 on-base percentage and was a perfect 10-for-10 on stolen base attempts.
