Walsh's older sister, Libby, was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2024 at Arizona State before transferring back to her home state, landing at Boston University. McCoy is becoming a star in her own right, bursting onto the scene as a high school freshman with a 1.25 ERA and 215 strikeouts in 19 appearances. Her sophomore year was nearly as good, with a 1.62 ERA and 186 strikeouts in 107 2/3 innings as King Philip, in southeastern Massachusetts, reached the division championship game. Walsh is 31-5 through two high school seasons, and was an all-scholastic selection this past spring by both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald.

Vigneau won all 18 of her decisions for Rhode Island's La Salle Academy as a sophomore, finishing with a 1.70 ERA and 188 strikeouts in 119 1/3 innings. Using her spin and pinpoint precision, Vigneau had a 1.06 WHIP and also fielded her position well, making just one error. A heavy workload began to catch up to Vigneau late in the season, but her team still finished a perfect 25-0 and won the Rhode Island Division I state championship. Vigneau struck out at least 10 batters in eight different games and was named to the all-state first team by the Providence Journal.
