Top Uncommitted 2026 Prospects From North Dakota

When a softball fan thinks of North Dakota, they may not initially think about the state's youth softball talent. But the talent that exists in North Dakota should certainly be thought about by college softball coaches on the recruiting trail.   Below, we examine the top 2026 uncommitted softball prospects from North Dakota. Each player listed is a skilled and essential part of their respective teams, and several have received postseason recognition for their high school performances. Many are elite multi-sport athletes and likely won't stay uncommitted for long.    Logen is a multi-sport athlete who is an integral part of every team she's on. She leads by example and pushes her teammates to be the best that they can be. On the softball field, she can play several positions, but she shines at shortstop because of her great hands and quick feet. Logen Ystaas had a fantastic 2024 high school season both defensively and offensively. She posted a .480 batting average, hit 24 singles, 11 doubles, 10 triples, and three home runs, while also adding 44 RBIs and scoring 56 runs. Because of her keen eye at the plate, she walked 18 times and struck out only eight times. She is a big threat with the bat, and is able to hit for both power and average. She also aided her team in making it back to the North Dakota state tournament. Logen was named to the 2024 NDHSCA Class B Softball All-State Team for her performance on the field.     Addie has played throughout the infield and outfield, and has been the ultimate competitor in the pitching circle as well. She was pitching when her team played a late September tournament in Glendive, MT, and upset the Dawson Community College Buccaneers 12-6. Her travel ball coach Mike Dorr states, “We couldn't have done it without her battling to stifle their hitters much of the day. She's already a game-changing pitcher, but I believe she has only scratched the surface and will be even better next season.” Hitting near the top of the lineup, she boasted a .722 slugging percentage and a .556 batting average in the fall. She is a testament that size doesn't determine a player's ability. She has a fantastic eye and rarely strikes out, and she can hit from both sides of the plate. Addie was named to the 2024 NDHSCA Class B Softball All-State Team.     Taylor is an elite player who has started at shortstop since 7th grade for Wilton High School. She was an All-State selection her freshman and sophomore year and an All-Region pick as an 8th grader. She has a high softball IQ and a world-class work ethic. Taylor is a fierce competitor in the leadoff spot and batted .690 last year with five home runs, 22 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases. Her high school coach Trever Yetterboe states, “Last year Taylor had an extra-base hit in every game she played. I've never seen a player in the zone like that for a whole year, all of this while only striking out one time.“ Taylor is a multi-sport athlete, starting varsity in volleyball and basketball since the 8th grade. She was voted to the All-Region teams in each sport and was also named to the 2024 NDHSCA Class B Softball All-State Team. Taylor also excels in the classroom, compiling a 3.82 GPA.     Jada Purdy is a top middle infielder in her class with one of the most outstanding bats in North Dakota. She earned All-Conference and All-State recognition last year as a sophomore. Her elite reflexes and sharp instincts make her a defensive force to be reckoned with, as she frequently makes difficult plays look routine. Jada's spring school and summer ball collective fielding percentage was .945. Aside from her stellar defense, she is also a powerhouse at the plate. Her quick hands and first-class pitch recognition deliver key hits and runs, making her a vital asset to her team's success. Purdy's spring and summer ball stats include a batting average of .380, .509 OBP, .661 SLG, 43 RBI, and four HR. Jada's combination of defensive expertise and offensive strength makes her one of the most well-rounded players on the field.     Madison is a hardworking, committed athlete who loves to bring energy to the field. Since she was young, she has always taken on a leadership role for her teams. No matter where she is on the field, she's always finding ways to cheer on her teammates and increase their energy. Because of her passion and love for the game, she's helped create a positive culture within her teams. Madison constantly works to grow her skills. She can be found practicing her strengths, such as her reaction time, power, and ability to read balls on the field and in the box. She is a vacuum defensively, and no ball can get by her at third or behind the plate. Her cumulative offensive stats for the 2024 season are a .352 batting average with 20 doubles, one triple, and six home runs. Defensively, she had a .947 fielding percentage with 246 total chances, and her caught-stealing percentage was 23.36% with 43 total chances.     Emma Jones is a well-rounded athlete playing multiple varsity sports since the 7th grade. She is a versatile utility player with a cannon for an arm, throwing for both speed and accuracy. She was forced to take over as her school's primary pitcher last year, striking out 91 batters in 59 innings. She dominates in the circle with great control and accuracy. Even though she shines in the circle, her true specialty is her hitting. She consistently hits for average and gap power. As a sophomore, she batted .571 with four home runs and 29 runs batted in 50 at-bats. She also finished the season with 13 extra-base hits, including four triples. Because of her speed, she runs the bases extremely well, stealing 20 bases and adding 32 runs. She is a dedicated athlete, teammate, and student who is an asset to every team she plays for.
