Beverly Bandits Premier 16U Otto/Moran

Scenic City Top 25 attracts some of the toughest competition the nation has to offer. To win this event is not an easy task. Despite this known fact, the Bandits were able to bring home the title of 16U Fall Top 25 champions in convincing fashion. Going undefeated on the weekend, this Wisconsin-based team scored 44 runs in eight games. While this roster only contains two committed players, they were able overcome every opponent they faced. This team has two events left for the fall and is certainly a threat to bring home some more hardware.

Athletics Mercado Hovermale - 2027

After a slow offensive start on Championship Sunday, Athletics Mercado Hovermale - 2027 plowed through the rest of their competition until coming up one run short in the championship (8-7 final). With a 5-1-1 record over the three days at Top 25, this team scored 51 runs with over half of those coming in their last three games. It is important to note that this team only has 2027s on its roster, which makes its performance at this event even more impressive. This team should be very proud of its second-place finish.

Select Fastpitch '08 Alvarado

The last team spotlight from Top 25 is Select Fastpitch from St. Louis, Missouri. Select finished 4-1 and made it to the Elite 8 on Championship Sunday. Their only loss came to the eventual-champion Beverly Bandits. Despite this being their first fall event, their offense and defense were more than ready to compete. In their five games, they scored 27 runs and had top-notch defense to keep other teams off the board. This team has two more events this fall and is a definite contender for more top finishes.

Team NC Bowman

As mentioned in the introduction of this article, there were two events taking place last weekend at the 16U level of Scenic City. While one of them was showcase-only (no bracket play), teams still stood out there and impressed, including Team NC Bowman. Going 5-0 in the top bracket, Team NC scored 47 runs in their five games, while only giving up 12. Their 2027/2028 roster knows how to hit, field, and pitch at the highest level. They only have two losses this fall and have two big events left on their schedule. Keep an eye out for them, as this team is more than capable of bringing home some more hardware before the year is over.

Ohio Hawks 08-Ford

Another team that impressed at Scenic City was the Ohio Hawks. They won all six of their showcase games, mostly due to their top-notch defense. While the scores may imply that this team did not have a huge weekend at the plate, they received seven home runs from six different players. With no committed players on the roster (yet), this team is full of young talent, making their performance at this event truly remarkable. The Hawks have one more event for the fall and intend to end their season on a high note.
