Five 2025 Catchers To Watch

This year's high school senior class is chock-full of talent, and that includes some stellar batterymates behind the dish. But before the captains of the field step on the dirt for the first time in game action at the college level in early 2026, they still have big things to accomplish in the final season of their high school and club careers.   Below, we examine five catchers to watch this season from the 2025 recruiting class.    Perhaps the biggest bat in the 2025 class, Hinde will undoubtedly be a threat to opposing pitchers for years to come at the college level. Not only does the Florida State commit excel with the bat in her hands, but she also performs exceptionally well behind the plate and at third base. She also brings a high-academic approach to the game, as she does extremely well in the classroom.     Another big bat in the 2025 recruiting class, Bain is capable of adding significant value both behind the dish and in the infield once she arrives on campus at Arkansas next fall. As a high-level, dual-sport athlete who also plays basketball, Bain brings a ton of athleticism to the Razorbacks' latest recruiting class. She will look to cap off her stellar prep career with another state championship in her senior season.     The 5-foot-11 Morrison has a commanding presence both behind the plate and in the batter's box. A Tennessee commit, Morrison has a tremendous eye and also does not strike out much at all, making her an incredibly tough out at the prep and club levels. She has a gun of an arm to boot, often eliminating baserunners who attempt to steal on her.     A force on both offense and defense, Wells is another Oklahoma commit who can do it all on the field. Aside from her undeniable softball talent, she also has an energy and spark about her that gives her an "it" factor and extends beyond her playing abilities. The Georgia native is also a basketball standout at the prep level, bringing significant athleticism to the Sooners' latest recruiting class.     Jensen has the type of Midwestern power that has been a staple in Northwestern's lineup for years. She can hit the ball a mile and command the field from behind the dish as well. The Marengo star also has an impressive club pedigree with the Illinois Chill organization. We expect her prep and club success to translate right to the collegiate level once she steps on campus next fall.
